Whist at the time of writing, the format of this years Amsterdam Dance Event is still being decided, one thing is certain, the music and spirt of the festival is stronger than ever!
 
ADE connects a global electronic music community which is reflected this in our 2021 sampler, bringing together homegrown Dutch talent alongside artists from Europe, South America, and The Middle East.
 
The full melodic spectrum is represented, from deep progressive beats and emotional vocals to the tougher kicks and astral synths found at the darker end of melodic techno. 
 
7 new artists join the sequence family as part of the sampler, and we welcome back Zieze for his second outing on the label.

Romero (andLEZ Interpretation) andLEZ unique style defies the standard rule of remixing, going with his own interpretation of Romero. The track's canvas is painted by a tasteful progression of synths going back and forth, evolving all the way down to the track's bridge. It’s Showcase time, six slabs of mighty fine dancefloor tuneage with which to ring out the old and ring in the new. The Phenomenal 15th is a Selador Fam Special, as we are delighted to be welcoming back half a dozen old friends to the label.

One of the most prolific Afro-influenced producers on the scene, Darksidevinyl is back for his third time on the label since Boohe first blew up off Showcase 11 in 2020. Internal Jungle sets a high benchmark for this Showcase, a brooding beauty with driving percussion and more hooks than a fisherman’s tackle shop.

Melbourne’s rising star Sam Hopgood makes a quick return after wowing us on 2021’s Showcase 14 with the infectious Waiting. The lush atmospherics of new cut Trust will only elevate Sam’s status even further, a breathy vocal sample weaving in and out of intense chiming synths.

Martin HERRS’ Afro Houser Impala shone brightly on last year’s Showcase 12, becoming one of our best sellers of 2021. Now firmly ensconced in the electronic elite, Visual Provocation sees Martin channel the vibe of early 80s electronic pioneers through a 2022 filter – deep & dark, just how we like it.

Oz electronica deity Jamie Stevens then makes an even quicker return to the label. Fresh from his chart topping collab wih Anthony Pappa, solo cut Fool Me Once is a gorgeous slice of machine soul, achieving the rare feat of being hypnotic, ethereal and funky all at the same time. Classy. 

The trio of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic are a production team who have consistently proved themselves over recent times, as evidenced on 2020’s Selador outing, Dangerous. They now return with Lonely,  a no-nonsense heads down monster that throbs like a cartoon thumb, with a distinctive vocal hook likely to take up permanent residence in your head.

St Petersburg’s Blaktone also make an overdue reappearance at Selador HQ to round things off perfectly. Past releases Saw Mantra and Under My Skin remain much loved catalogue nuggets, and The New Message will undoubtedly join them, a masterclass in squelching nu-acid set to rock peak time floors.

Rapidly emerging as a defining force in the global Afro House scene, DJ HYDRA continues his upward trajectory with the second release on his newly formed imprint, Suru Records.

A producer with a clear vision and emotive sound, Hydra’s profile is expanding fast, with breakout releases on respected labels that include OVAVA Music, and a newly signed track with DJ Spen’s legendary Quantize Recordings.

His latest single, "5am in Soho" captures a unique emotional space, a melodic, late-night anthem that evokes a universal feeling.

It’s the kind of track you put on when the party is over and its time to go home, but your friends drag you for one more song, It’s that euphoric time when everything blurs but you feel intensely happy, a full sense of liberation, with a child like urge to jump on the nearest car and keep dancing… true freedom in all its essence.

Hydra Comments: “This one is deeply personal to me. I’m the kind of friend who disappears at 5am for side quests, and then you find me back on the dance floor grooving till the lights come on. This is my theme song, it represents the start of the end of the night.”

Blending deep African rhythms with contemporary electronic grooves, HYDRA has crafted a signature sound that resonates on both underground dancefloors and international stages. This release, follows on from his impactful debut on Suru Records with "Bamidele" which hit #5 on the Traxsource Afro House chart and broke into the Top 10 overall. Reflecting back, his first track, "Like House," accrued 10K+ streams in under two months, catching the attention of UK label OVAVA Music, who signed and re-issued the song. Hydra later remixed label head Ollie Mundy, with it receiving multiple plays on Burning Man sets that year.

Now signed to both OVAVA Music and Quantize Recordings with more releases on the way, HYDRA is gaining global recognition for his versatile, emotionally driven Afro House sound. Influenced by pioneers like Black Coffee and Keinemusik, he’s spent years refining a style that uniquely bridges the intimacy of club culture with the energy of major festivals.

Preceding a visit to the UK and Europe, he has a hot remix for UK duo Sunana now in the pipeline of one of their label's biggest hits, a universal anthem with guest mixes scheduled for multiple London stations.
