This month’s ‘Sound Of Renaissance’ is another stellar blend of house and techno. From the rising chords of Ross From Friends ‘Run’; the amazing Gui Boratto remix of Agents Of Time through to Phil Keiran, Laurent Garnier, WhoMadewho, Rampa or &ME, the quality bar is set high with the scene’s most respected names.

Naturally, this month’s label releases get the obligatory attention they deserve. We welcome the return of The ReMix Collection with Gorgon City’s powerful reinterpretation of Mephisto’s ‘State Of Mind’; Copenhagen’s Radeckt delivers a cutting-edge take on AIKON’s ‘Legends’, whilst Martin Badder and Stealth mark their Renaissance debut with ‘Another Life’, a beautiful vocal that teases the ‘back of the neck’ hairs. 

Lastly, we close with another ‘goosebumper’, paying tribute to someone who’s been a massive influence on electronic music - the late, great Vangelis with his Bladerunner classic, ‘Rachel’s Song’.

‘Tō Wairua’ recasts the story of Hine Takurua and Hine Raumati and their relationship with Tamanuiterā, giving the two wāhine a voice by asking ‘what is the shape of their longing?’ Their perspectives, their nostalgia, are pulled across into sexy house music territory, weaving reo words of ache through the dancefloor. The raw emotion of the kupu are highlighted in the vocal edit while the club edit dials up the dance intensity.
