Following ‘The Future is the Past’, last year’s widely popular contribution to DGTL’s ‘Various Artists – Volume Two’ compilation, Amsterdam’s Colyn (@colynmusic) now sets his own EP for release on the Amsterdam-based imprint. Entitled ‘Martian’, the diverse 3-tracker is another distinctive step in the exciting young talent’s status as an artist firmly on the ascent. Martian is set to release on September 3 with pre-orders available on August 26.

That ascent has come at a breakneck pace. Even with the hits, international nightlife took from the pandemic, Colyn never missed a beat. His emotive sound is comfortably familiar yet mesmerizingly distinct. Its textures, stutters, and synths occupy a unique space between house and techno. This signature sound has already featured on the likes of Afterlife and Rose Avenue, as well as on several well-received remixes (including for the likes of Joris Voorn). Colyn’s ‘Resolve EP’ on Tale of Us’ Afterlife in 2019 was an instant hit and continues to be a go-to release on the hugely popular imprint.

Martian kicks off with its eponymous track. An Italo-inspired groover, the track features soft, vocoded vocals from Colyn himself. Open for interpretation but concrete enough for all to find meaning, the track ponders one of the deepest of life’s questions: Are we alone?
Then, ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ acts as the natural progression from ‘The Future is the Past‘ – a feel-good anthem and bonafide crowd-pleaser, set to imminently ignite dancefloors the world over. ‘Martian’ concludes with the introspective pandemic produced and inspired ‘Programmed for Empathy’.

The artwork for ‘Martian’ continues DGTL’s commitment to supporting local and independent visual artists. This time, Coloray takes the reigns with his distinctive take on three-dimensional world-building. With ‘Martian’, the multi-disciplinary Dutch artist Coloray and DGTL proudly kick off the first of several unique curations.

Colyn - Programmed For Empathy

Colombia's forthcoming duo Ten Systems debut their first Radikon full length EP for a late autumn celebration of the everlasting sunshine state. Here comes ‚California'! Noisy straightforward beats plant the seeds for the emerging warmth of Angus Powell's voice, which slowly surfaces through masterfully cut vocal snippets. Atmospheric melancholia sets the tone for this release's centerpiece.

Remix duty is taken personal this time. None other than labelheads Jonas Saalbach and Guzy offer their collaborative reconstruction of ‚California', spiced up with some grains of BPM, pumping synths lines and hypnotic melody patterns, culminating into a proper main stage peak time drop.

‚Essence', a jointventure with LORRAINNE, closes the melodic techno triarchy with a pressuring groove, while still leaving space for oases of heavily breathing synthesizers. Techy Snares and Hi Hat placements offer an unescapable dance indulging substructure.

Following the pop-meets-R&B flavours of previous single “Don’t Forget to Breathe”, the next track to be taken from Trikk’s debut album Fauna & Flora is one for the techno heads. Reasserting his club credentials, the Portuguese producer returns to the dancefloor for a slimline yet uncompromising take on techno that nods to the LP’s green-fingered theme. “Regado” (which means “to water”) spreads itself out across three minutes, snowballs with intensity, and is as cool and dramatic as a winter’s night. Who’s ready for 2023?

'Dont Know' is a double sided track; two themes with different melodies are fused together by an infectiously catchy vocal. 'Too Young' leans on the darker end of the spectrum, whilst still incorporating the feeling of Ceas. The main melody is an anthem, leading the track to the big stages.

We proudly welcome back German maestro Sascha Braemer to Sincopat, this time for his first solo EP on the label after providing a huge remix for AFFKT some months ago. The forward-thinking 'Vyolence' EP includes three original tracks and one remix by the proven talents Florian Kruse and Julian Wasserman.
'Vyolence' opens the fireworks with an unpredictable slice of electronic music. A mixture of several influences, huge synth layers are treated into a solid base making a crossover timeless piece that perfectly reflects the legendary Braemer's sound. For the remix duties, Florian and Julian offer a groovy re-interpretation also difficult to pigeonhole in a certain style, with a great new bass but still keeping the essence of the original one. On 'Analog Garden' Sascha presents another bomb with a remarkable synth as a hook along the track, more and more pure sounds are developed in the surprising breakdown that leads to madness. 'Capella' is closing the EP with an avant- garde atmosphere that, for sure, will make the release a new step forward in the Braemer sound and discography.
