Breakout UK artist Toby Simpson returns to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this July.
Previously appearing on Hottrax, The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin Headz, and many more, Toby Simpson’s music has seen support from the likes of Marco Carola, Lee Foss, and of course, Jamie Jones. Returning now to Jones’ label with ‘That’s The Way’, the UK-based DJ/producer brings another two tracks built with energetic drum grooves, wobbling basslines and trippy percussive elements. 

He kicks off with 'That's The Way', a tight and steamy house cut with bristling drum funk, turbocharged stabs, and addictive vocals for an intense yet stylish heater. The brilliant 'Retro Bass' is a fiery cut with explosive energy, hard-hitting drums meet tough synth stabs and wild vocal loops all add to the colour and character.

Radio Slave pays homage to Funboy Three with ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute to Terry Hall)’. 

Fun Boy Three’s groundbreaking 1981 anthem ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum’ reflected a socio-political uncertainty and fear of the time, mirroring today’s calamitous society.

Radio Slave’s tribute to the late vocalist of The Specials and Fun Boy Three, Terry Hall, ‘The Lunatics (A Tribute To Terry Hall)’ centres itself on the unmistakable haunting vocal chant of its source material. Welded to the sort of unbreakable groove that Radio Slave has spent two decades refining, the vocal swells, repeating chorus, and jolting alarm sounds make for yet another anthem from one of dance music’s most bankable names.

“I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that “the lunatics have taken over the asylum”, and it definitely seems like the right time to do a cover. Rounding out the release, Radio Slave strips the single of its iconic vocal for the ‘A Clinic Full Of Cynics’ dub. In this version, he lets its infectious guitar strum bass roar and added jazz-inflected musical elements shine in a pure and true tribute to ska music told by the Rekids founder.

Pazzos joins the BAU_HAUS tribe with 'Caminos', a three-track Indie Dance explosion that charts a path through groove, melody and meaning. Hailing from Mar del Plata, the Argentine duo blend Melodic House and Indie Dance into something both personal and expansive.

Camino meaning "path" in Spanish is very pertinent across 'Laberinto', 'Port Frequency' and 'Aura Secreta', as Pazzos reflect on life’s crossroads. They prove that even in chaos, there's always a way forward, you just have to listen for it.
