Son deMar is a band, in search for unpretentious and transcendent elements in the music. It's raw and ambient with theatrical ideas and lyrics that attempt to describe various states of mind.  

It started in 2016. The drummer and theater musician Sune Skuldboel Vraa had for many years composed music and created soundscapes for other people's stories and projects, but wanted to make music that defined him. He started in his studio with a dogme - Each production must include some almost indefinable musical textures, and it all has to arise from an 8 track tape recorder.
 
The result is a series of songs which will be released in October. Son deMar is still undescribed – a blank page - but Son deMar is here to stay, and ready to share with those who wants to listen!

Fat Freddy's Drop’s pirate soul train, resolutely independent, worldwide.

Formed in 1999 in Wellington, New Zealand our sound draws inspiration from almost every part of the black music lexicon. Soul drenched vocals and jazz harmonies collide with tape delays and echo chambers, underpinned by a rhythm section as comfortable laying down a throbbing, techy soundscape as they are a swampy blues stomp.

My name is Jamie Lidell and I'm gonna delve into the heady magic of creating music in a modern studio, probe the depths of production, get tech crazy with mixing tricks, studio skills and equipment. I'll be joined by fellow musicians, engineers and all-round audiophiles who kindly share their tips, stories and ingenious insight from the bizarre world of music production. I shall answer questions and seek knowledge from other music makers on a quest to discover how to make things sound RIGHT. I will also share some studio trickery on each episode as I explore some of my favourite innovations in music tech and my creations... outpourings from the weirdo brain! Welcome to a place for musicians, producers and listeners alike as we "cheers" our love of everything audio.
