He’d seen them, glowing eyes in the windows, shadows that flitted about the grounds, shutters and doors that created unnatural rhythms in the whistling wind. He knew there was something in that old manor, but none else believed him. The time of ghosts and ghouls was long past they said, and such stories were bogeymen used only to keep nearby children away from the condemned property. They insisted, but he knew better. He’d venture in, where none had gone in living memory, and obtain the proof to make his words ring true. He was no crazed man, no, he saw what was truly there.

Armed with camera and wit alone, he dared tread across the estate, treading the worn stone pathways of its garden towards the set of great oaken doors that were its maw. To his surprise, they open almost effortlessly, as though he was meant to enter, as though the house had been expecting a visitor. They closed not only effortlessly but somehow more quickly too, but the man did not fear; this was only the first of many grains of truth to be gathered from this place where non else dared enter. As he ventured further inwards, the walls seemed to warp to greet him, a wave undulating through their construction that moved at precisely his pace. The pictures that hung on the walls warped too, transforming into uncanny visages of the humanoid figures that seemed almost imprisoned within. Deeper and deeper into the manor he went, documenting these strange occurrences with such diligence that he nearly failed to note that he had re-emerged into the manor’s great hall, despite never turning from the course that had lead him from it some time ago. As he looked up from his shutter, there before him was a horrific form, a melding of beast and man within an otherworldly miasma that seemed to sap all of the heat from his bones. The though horrified, the man’s face contorted itself into a grin, as the evidence he sought lay here before him. With not a thought for what might follow, the man’s finger triggered the shutter, capturing the form of what he had known to exist for so long. Elated, he turned to leave the mansion but ran up against a barrier of invisible force, the lens of the camera that now lay on the floor and the tomb that he too was now captured within.

TEDDY KILLERZ bring their latest single to EATBRAIN with GHOSTS//FINAL BOSS, the latest in the ursine trio’s unstoppable rampage throughout the Neurofunk scene. Within, they deliver another dose of their horror-influenced sound with bass drum bombardments, electrified arpeggios, and earsplitting baselines alike, which morph the EATBRAIN horde into sonic manifestations of fear.

Staying true to his name, Stealth has craftily taken centre stage. Every record he's released oozing with sophistication has repeatedly stolen the spotlight. And this next one is no exception.
The production connoisseur yet again goes for the aural jugular, using ProgRAM as a launch pad. Stealth demonstrates the imprint's forward thinking movements and command of a genre which often goes unmatched. The relationship has been harmonious; alongside ProgRAM, he's already made a crater sized impact within the dnb community... And it's not difficult to see why.

'Homage' leads in a tightly fashioned intensity. Dark, brooding and with plucky percussion, it's a tribute to the sound Dillinja mastered. An instantly recognisable vocal sample is filtered through the record's menace, meandering perfectly between the bassline's thumps which eventually drop us into LFO-lead chaos. Piece by piece the main melody begins to build, throbbing until it completely over-takes the record's more humanistic elements. Audibly stocky, yet with a dimension that rings true of Stealth's icy production, it's a relentless roller with a nasty bite.

Next up, 'Smash It' still holds onto the merciless setting of its predecessor, but also offers something completely different. With a bristling rhythm that steps its way into a haunting crescendo, Stealth uses this break to highlight the track's imposing detail; it trickles, floods and then the dam breaks due to the build up's audible weight. Progressing deeper into the mix, the track is underpinned by quaking sub bass. An insistent kick and snap of drums merges against steeply elevating note loops, laying out Stealth's finely combed conundrum of complex yet hard hitting composition. Both 'Homage' and 'Smash It' receive the innovative-stamp of approval, playing on more contemporary elements but also delving deep into the 90s, promising both tracks remain timeless.

Stealth is pushing his influence into every corner, with his late night vibes commanding even the hardest of crowds. So, yet again, it's time to get with the ProgRAM, and succumb to one of the scene's biggest contenders.

From the depths of music’s murkiest waters, AUDIO is back and bigger than ever. Pumping those bass heavy dumbbells and effortlessly reigning over the realm he helped to shape, prepare yourself for a musical excursion like no other.
The union between RAM and AUDIO sent reverberations throughout the community. Having already thrown hard-hitting punches with his first release on the imprint, it’s now time for another full-frontal assault. 
The opening credits roll out like a musical blockbuster, with those first few jabs sending you reeling in suspense. ‘Nil By Mouth’ is snappy, aggressive and builds tentatively, with an imposing drop which leaves a lasting impact. There’s an endless stream of hard-hitting bass notes, cutting deeper and deeper into the mix until its intimidating composition is exposed. The structure is then diced up by an elevating drum pattern, leading you into meticulously crafted anarchy. AUDIO smashes you head first through a glass prototype, leaving you to bear the brunt of his production. 
Next up, we’re introduced to the mechanical drill of ‘Ultron’. The first few booms pushes the intro forward at an alarming pace, accelerating as the gears are audibly shifted. Measured, yet proving to be unstoppable and flying forward aboard one pounding rhythm, expect no less from the guy who brought you ‘Heads Up’ and ‘Stampede’. Ending with a final snap of breakbeat, you’re left to bask in a record that detonates with outstanding power. 
Following on from these dance floor destroyers, is aptly named ‘Break It’.  On first listen, stay away from anything fragile. Winding up with the same tell-tale aggressiveness which his production style is renowned for, he manoeuvres last minute into unfamiliar territories.  Bouncing between bars with a war-cry like vocal sample, AUDIO pulls you in and keeps you there… another shining example of AUDIO’s ability to produce game changing, contemporary drum and bass. 
Wrapping up this sonic assault is ‘Gotham’. As dark and brooding as the famed city itself, find yourself lead through a stepping, precise construction of beats. Unforgiving, weighty pads guide a steppy riddim into undiluted madness. This completely envelops the musical environment and it’s difficult not to blown away by the conundrum of quick witted instrumentation that snap, crack and smack with every break. 
Featuring next level cuts from a man who stands at the genre’s forefront, it’s time to let the music talk. And it’ll stand as one of the dnb population’s most lasting conversation for a while.

2015 is definitely DisasZt’s year! The label head-honcho teams up this time with one of the MC legends in the Drum & Bass Scene, MC Coppa, and brings you the “Trojan Horse”…

After the collaboration single with Protune & a feature in the Mainframe Soldiers Series, DisasZt returns into the scene with an epic, yet perfect track to finish up this summer in a breath-taking way, showing his intention to create something personal but relevant to the whole scene.

A combination of intricate drum edits, a heavy complex sound & precise vocals: The “Trojan Horse” will be stopping wherever you want.

Also joining up on this single are two duos, Telekinesis and our label-own fire starters Dossa & Locuzzed. Telekinesis’ remix is stepping up the level of heaviness, incorporating their dominant style, once again with Coppa’s vocals.

Finishing up this masterpiece is Dossa&Locuzzed’s remix, calming down the mood with a tremendous array of drum patterns and typical bass growls. The Austrian duo is showing us, yet again, the power of their production style.

A young boy walked through the halls of his family’s house, treading with dread upon the creaking floorboards on the way towards his bedroom. With his face turned downwards into a frown, the boy wished to return to his old home, which had not creaky floors nor the strange smell of ages worn into its walls. His parents had called this new house “historic” and a good “fixer-upper”, but such thoughts were lost on the boy who thought only of comforts he had once known. The boy’s dog too seemed to share this opinion, barking at shadows and peering worriedly into such places as the basement which terrified the boy. Thus, the boy was pleased to see that his canine confidant lay curled at the foot of his bed as he entered his room, though his attention quickly focused itself upon new inhabitant: a pristine teddy bear that sat at the base of his closet.

With youthful wonderment the boy picked up the stuffed animal as a smile spread across his face. As he resolved to thank his parents for what could only be their gift, the boy heard a voice from the bear itself. “Hello my new friend” said the bear with a smile “Why don’t you sit down, lets play a while.” At the sound of this voice the dog awoke with a start, confusing the boy with a fearsome growl directed at the new toy. “Oh don’t be so jealous,” the bear snapped back “two is better than one in case monsters attack.” At the sound of this word the boy thought to check the closet for such things, which liked to hide there in old homes such as his. As he timidly cracked open the closet the bear spoke once more, “Don’t you worry yourself my new friend, that’s what I am here for!”. With closet door now ajar the dog let out a bellowing bark, and just before it slammed shut the boy peered into the dark. He was aghast as he saw a strange tentacle which seemed to run from his new toy into the darkness beyond. Feeling his distress the bear spoke at last with finality “Trust me young child, no monster will be your end. I’ve dealt with them all because WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS.”

SMOOTH marks his second EATBRAIN release of the year with his latest single WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS as he brings DC BREAKS along with him for their EATBRAIN debut. A veteran duo in the Drum & Bass scene, DC BREAKS have delivered their sound for over a decade on labels such as RAM Records, Viper Recordings, Blackout, and more. A little bit about René LaVice

From the humble beginnings of finding out about Drum & Bass music via the late night broadcasts on Toronto’s College Radio stations (88.1FM & 89.5FM) while growing up, René has travelled worlds away from where he started. Flash forward a decade or so, René’s own productions are now hailed around the world as some of the genre’s most iconic and innovative records in electronic dance music. He’s flown worldwide performing shows and cultivating the sound of Drum & Bass as a true tastemaker and leader in the genre. 

As though coming full circle, René was approached by the BBC about creating his own specialist show on Radio 1, so in 2017, following in the footsteps of legendary former hosts Fabio & Grooverider, and Friction, René is now the Drum & Bass representative on the world’s biggest platform. 
 
As a producer, René LaVice’s sounds are unmistakable. Known for combining different styles and influences with his own sensibility, his music has a thumbprint which stands out in the mix. Nowhere could this be more evident than in his first breakthrough track ‘Headlock,’ which took the scene by storm and turned heads of tastemakers worldwide onto what would soon become one of dance music’s most exciting producers. Since then, René’s made a string of hits, such as The Calling ft. Ivy Mairi, a musical hybrid unlike any other which was A-Listed on Radio 1 for weeks and hit the billboard top 40 dance chart. 

Renowned for his remix track record and ability to turn a song upside down, he has remixed an impressive roster of artists such as Diplo, DJ Fresh, Craig David & The Prodigy, making him a highly sought after remix artist.  He released 3 albums on the illustrious Ram Records which earned him the respect of young fans and veteran DJ’s alike. 

Having the support of touring Drum & Bass royalty such as Andy C, Goldie & Randall combined with attention from Radio presenters and tastemakers such as Annie Mac, Mistajam, Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw, Greg James, and Scott Mills is like a dream to any young producer and René’s skills as a performer and a DJ have been consolidated thanks to touring all around the globe and turning even the most unlikely shows upside down. Known for crowdsurfing at his gigs, he may sound like a bit of 
an anomaly when it comes to dance music. The excitement he feels from his music is as captivating as it is infectious. Having performed shows at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Download, EDC, and world class venues like Brixton Academy, Fabric, and Alexandra Palace, René has evolved into one of the most exciting headlining acts in dance music. 

Now living in London, UK, one can only speculate where René LaVice’s journey through music will lead next.
