Flatliner - The Big Bang - Breakz 2023 Remix

Wow, this album came out 22 YEARS AGO! Where did the time go? I always wax nostalgic about turn of the century Ram Records stuff, and this album definitely has that Ram sound. I oddly enough recorded this on the eve of it's 22nd birthday (Oct. 14, 2002) without even realizing it. I did throw Foul Mouth in the mix to help pad it out a little. If you don't remember much about the album, there were some definite bangers present - Guy Fawkes, Shadows, and Party People are my standouts. All mixed live on Technics 1210s, a Numark Scratch mixer and Serato control vinyl. Thanks for checking out my mix! Junglist Massive!

The final look at Ram Records 2006 - 2010! I thought I would struggle to find enough tracks for this mix but I actually forgot how many amazing tunes came out during these years. Mixed in one take with some absolute personal faves from this awesome era. Shortly after Ram Records would take a nosedive in quality so this is definitely the last mix!

The first, “Be Free”, originally released in 2022 on UK Garage label R U SRS?, made an instant impact, soaring to the #1 spot on the Beatport UK Garage charts for two consecutive weeks, while also securing #1 on Juno for a full week.

With support from heavyweights like DJ EZ, Martin Liberty Larner, DJ Q, and more, “Be Free”
became an essential selection for high class talent across the scene.

And now, Shayper (Know for releases on Ram Records, Dirtbox, GTA and more)—fresh off his
groundbreaking Tape Pack Series and the release of his debut album Iteration earlier this year on Dirtbox Recordings—steps up to deliver a powerful, junglist style remix that’s set to absolutely destroy dancefloors.

As if that wasn’t enough, Ram Records duo Syran, bring their signature touch to “Come Back to Me”, a track that marked Kusha’s drum and bass debut on Dirtbox Recordings in 2023.

The original (A huge commercial DnB anthem) peaked at #4 on the Beatport DnB Hype charts and earned the coveted Track of the Week spot on BBC Radio 1 West Midlands, where it received daily airplay throughout the month of July in 2023 on the show.

Syran’s remix injects the track with fresh coat of paint, crafting an exhilarating twist on an already massive tune. 

Hearing these two epic remixes of two of Kusha’s biggest releases is an exciting moment for fans of both UK Garage and Drum & Bass. This is a VIP to a previous track I made called EAC (because I couldn't come up with a descriptive name and the track melody is written in keys E, A and C. 

In this variation in production I have expanded on the modulation in some of the sound design to make it less repetitive / more interesting. I also added additional sound layers to the intro and added compression to the vocal shots. I tried to thicken the drums up a bit more so they had more punch. As always I really welcome any feedback on my tracks especially to further production quality.

‘Without Me’ is the standout single from the forthcoming LP ‘Transmission 96’ by Liftin’ Spirits & DJ Persuasion.

‘Without Me’ retains the duo’s mission to pay tribute to classic Jungle and Drum and Bass with a modern twist, on this occasion with a nod to the liquid musical style championed by legendary artists such as LTJ Bukem, ‘Foul Play’ and Ant Miles’ alias ‘Higher Sense’ (Moving Shadow). This track is taken from their forthcoming LP ‘Transmission 96’ coming via the Liftin Spirit Records label on 16th May 2025.

'Transmission 96’ is a collaborative LP between one of the pioneers of Jungle and Drum and Bass, Liftin’ Spirits (aka Ant Miles), writing and producing alongside DJ Persuasion, a devotee of the genre, whose immersion into the culture came when discovering Miles' groundbreaking productions.

From this unique twin perspective, the LP takes primary inspiration from the second wave of Jungle Drum and Bass in the mid 1990s, an era when the genre had deeply evolved, its breakbeats and hardcore stabs expertly blended with soulful melodies for the dancefloor.

Liftin Spirit Records was the original sister label to Ram Records, the renowned and hugely influential imprint founded by another foundational talent in electronic music, Andy C. Both were based in the same studio in Hornchurch, Essex, UK, itself owned by Ant Miles since 1994.

The origins of ‘Transmission 96’ channel this collective creativity from the perspective of a different era. Having become friends in 2017, the first sketches for ‘Transmission 96’ began to emerge long-distance out of lockdown, taking shape into a rejuvenated British rave culture.

I started in Feb 2025 so I’m still learning and I have a low budget setup so please excuse my lower quality mastering and mistakes during my learning as I go… I’d say I’m bordering “tolerable” now 😂 some of my first tracks made a few months ago really are quite poor quality… the production, design, everything, but I’m leaving them here because I want to reflect on them in future in the hope I can hear some development or progress as I am determined to keep going. I want to make music that makes people dance and have fun, to spread positive vibes and good emotions.

I will keep trying hard to make things people love. I don’t make any money from my music it’s all purely for enjoyment of you, me and anyone who listens 😎

If you ever play my tracks in a DJ set etc then please send me video or link 🙏 I’ve never seen people dance to my music or it to be played anywhere.
