Correspondants 28th release, Polina, delivers another brooding, evocative EP for the label, this time from the Agents of Time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. The Italian trio of Andrea Di Ceglie, Fedele Ladisa, and Luigi Tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via Stem Records in January of the following year. The group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.

Light and darkness come together, you can feel the diversity in this track, which is made for two worlds. Melodic, cosmic and surprising, this is “Eclipse“ by Jäger. It’s a journey through soundcapes of house and techno at the same time. The strong and catchy bassline is combined with smart keys and some parts are just full of wide-open space. “Obscurity“ is straighter, with an angular groove and a slightly spooky vibe. And than we have “Visionary“, filled with palpable atmosphere and long lasting sound pearls. The bass loads up softly but extensive and gentle chords building up a magic moment. More light again after the break, but there is still the feeling, that these “Eclipse“ will come back.

Kostas Maskalides returns to phobiq with two slammers, and the title track is up first, led by retro toms and shuffling drums, laced by cavernous effects and atomic squelches. Sasha Carassi&#8217;s interpretation of &#8220;I Got Love&#8221; is up next, where he pulls the gears back a bit and retains the original&#8217;s vocals, yet twisting them to taste while dry stabs and evolving synths unfold over the rocksteady groove. Closing up with the original mix of &#8220;I Got Love&#8221;, Kostas brings in mutated vocal snippets and distressed electronics, as his trademarked, frantic rhythm section clears everything in its way.

Kostas returns to Phobiq with the stomping &#8220;What U Need&#8221;, which makes heads turn with its rumbling low end and nostalgic vocal snippets. But the real star of the affair is the mega-riff that seeps into your brain as the intricate programming ensures a flawless ride. &#8220;Maelstrom&#8221; picks up from there and opts for a more heads-down vibe, combining spoken word passages with electronic warfare and all sorts of synthesized squelches.

Maltese X-Man The Element lands on Engrave Ltd with a release that includes remixes from the Italian duo VII Circle and Sicilian DJ/Producer Musumeci.

The original mix is dominated by an obscure pulsating beat and brass combo, culminating into a dramatic break just in time to breath before the final ride. Andrea Vallisneri and Andrea Casari under their VII Circle moniker turns Morphius into an even darker and more hypnotic atmosphere giving back a deeper perspective of the main hook. Finally Musumeci pushes things towards more progressive and melodic territories adding a hell of an arpeggio he found behind the texture of original version.

Morphius will be available August 5th via Engrave LTD.

We start the day with a Free Download: The spanish guy Sarcasmo is here and delivers us the track 'there is no reason'. It's representative of the influences of the artis who produces techno and deep, sometime minimal fused with dark atmospheres. He signed his first techno E.P and he has released since then on labels such as Wood Recordings, Pacha Recordings, Riben records... He is starting a new project with his friend and now partner Words of Nio (USA) a new project deep house project that seems to be taking very well in the Ibiza area and have been performing non stops as well around the Island.

As the affair unfolds, rumbling low-end and menacing stabs complete the ride. The stomping &#8220;Extract&#8221; is up next and takes a different approach as cut-up vocals intertwine with acidic stabs and the rhythm section provides the addictive bounce.
