Michael Guillen born on November 29, 1990 (Age 21) is better known by his stage name “DJ Yankee” is a latin American DJ. Music has always been an interest to Yankee as he has participated in music related activities such as being in the band in his elementary, middle and high school. Yankee also grew up listening to a lot of different kind of music, which allowed him to learn all kinds of genres. At the age of 15 (2005) he grew a deeper interest in music when he met Lil Yung a teen from New Jersey that was into Rap & Hip-Hop.  DJ Yankee continued to name himself "LiL G" and began composing, producing and recording tracks with Yung. This experience helped DJ Yankee with his music career. After recording album "The Life of a Star" (2008) he dedicated more of his time to football and baseball which did not allow him to continue singing. DJ Yankee’s first experience behind a set of turntables was at a childhood friends Halloween Party in October 2009. Even though he wasn’t experienced, much feedback was positive. To DJ Yankee it was the beginning of something new that was not sports. DJ Yankee has made many appearances at lounges throughout New York City such Lola Lounge, LaBoom, Fiesta, Mamajuana Café, Don Coqui, M1-5 Lounge, Sofrito White Plains, Glow Lounge, Eastern Nights, Exotic Lounge, The Queen of Hearts boat and Cloud 9 NYC where he is currently the resident DJ. DJ Yankee has many close friends that are DJ’s (DJ Lou, DJ Lele, DJ E1, DJ Anarki, DJ Junior, DJ OhNo, DJ CellzSupreme, DJ Talent, DJ OG, DJ Slim, DJ Mikey V, DJ Rabbit, & DJ Class 1) that have helped him along the way and he appreciates them very much. DJ Yankee also has much support from his girlfriend, family and friends who are also important to him. DJ Yankee mixes many different genres such as House, Dance, Techno, Bachata, Merengue, Mambo, Tipico, Salsa, Reggaeton, Dembow, Reggae, Hip-Hop, R&B and Top 40's. DJ Yankee currently resides in Jamaica, NY with his mother and sister.
