Ziemlich angeschlagen und dennoch in Abriss-Stimmung hatte ich Euch bouncig von Samstag zu Sonntag durch die Nacht getript. Dieser Ritt war meine Heilung Leute! Ich hab' mich mit Euch allen & jedem Einzelnen so verbunden gefühlt.. ..das ging echt tief. Was für'n wirbelndes Tänzchen. A journey from the dirty through the deep into the dreamy; playing this closing set at my own event was my highlight of the ADE weekend 🥰

Originally, this recording was supposed to take place in a stunning open-air location somewhere between Bonn and Cologne. But, of course, the German weather had other plans in early September, refusing to cooperate for any kind of outdoor celebration. So, the event was actually canceled. However, among the closer circles of the organizer, so many people were eagerly looking forward to this party weekend that they quickly decided to move the event indoors, hosting it in the organizer’s beautifully decorated house near Cologne.

At that point, I didn’t know anyone personally in this group, but after a series of charming phone calls, I agreed to play for this smaller crowd. It turned out to be the right decision, because, in hindsight, this might have been one of the most emotional gigs of my year❣️

I showed up not knowing a single soul, but by the time I finished six hours later, I was welcomed so warmly, and the people there were so passionate about music and dancing that I ended up playing for nearly six hours straight. They just didn’t want to stop dancing.

It was truly beautiful, and especially the early morning hours became very intimate and emotional. After the never-ending applause at the end of my set, a spontaneous group cuddle emerged, during which someone noticed that one of the protagonists was wearing cowboy boots—because, after all, this party was supposed to take place in a barn🙏❣️ 

And that’s how the sentence was born that summed up what a unique night it had been: 
"...mit Cowboystiefel aber ohne Squaredance"
