[en] “Play My Birthday” is my birthday party in musical form.
I invited artists who have been part of my journey in psytrance to create tracks that would be my gifts: each one carries a piece of history, affection, and shared trajectory.

This V.A. is an affectionate record, an encounter of worlds that have crossed paths in my sound and in my personal life. There are people who have been with me since the beginning and artists who came later to expand, add to, and open new eras alongside me. If my birthday party were music, this would be the sound of "Happy Birthday," and that was the intention of the album: to unite the beginning, the middle, and today in a single story.

“Play My Birthday” doesn't just celebrate my birthday. It marks a turning point, a rebirth, a new phase of my project and my life. And, like any good surprise party, this V.A. arrives with that feeling of:
“nobody was expecting this… and that's what makes it so enjoyable.”

Esse V.A é um registro afetivo, um encontro de mundos que se cruzaram no meu som e na minha vida pessoal. Tem gente que está comigo desde o começo e artistas que chegaram depois para expandir, somar e abrir novas eras ao meu lado. Se a minha festa de aniversário fosse música, este seria o som do parabéns, e essa foi a intenção do álbum: unir o começo, o meio e o hoje em uma história só.

“Play My Birthday” não celebra só meu aniversário. Marca uma virada, um renascimento, uma nova fase do meu projeto e da minha vida. E, como toda boa festa surpresa, esse V.A chega com aquele sentimento de:

It has been one year since me and @mascalito dropped our first EP together. So I figured it is time to bring it properly to SoundCloud. The mini mix was here before but the full tracks were only on Bandcamp and the streaming platforms. That changes now. I will be releasing one full track every two weeks. Make sure to follow so you do not miss them. This first one is one of my absolute favorites. Funky melodies, heavy groove, and that hypnotic loop that just grabs you. It builds and builds into a total catharsis moment. Made for stomping straight out of the Matrix. Or maybe back in. The full EP is already available for download on Bandcamp. Over the last 20+ years, BMSS Records has become renowned for fostering genuine boundary-breaking innovation within the underground trance scene. 

To celebrate the label’s 200th release, head honcho Boom Shankar presents 2 masterful remixes of his classic collaboration with Malta’s Soul Kontakt. Having already been remixed by some of the scene’s greatest producers, this EP closes the circle by getting some of the finest emerging talent to give this timeless classic a fresh interpretation.

First up, BMSS’s latest signings from the US and from France (Qhemist & The Trancemancer) pump the track up to 145 bpm and give it a veritable turbo charge - transmogrifying the original’s uplifting vibes into a acidic monster for the Twilight hours. The second remix is by dynamic Finish duo Inverse Out, who send the track catapulting at 147 bpm into Suomi realms. The result is an unexpected tale full of tribal twists and playful turns - already an all time favourite within the BMSS crew.

These 2 awe-inspiring remixes are a perfect way to celebrate this seminal milestone, allowing us to both reminisce over past achievements and glimpse at the label’s future as a trailblazer in the psychedelic scene.
