Continuing to ride a tidal wave of success, progressive house phenom Alex O'Rion returns to Cid Inc's Replug Records with ‘Space Age'. Rising out of a successful career as a trance producer, Dutch artist Alex O'Rion took inspiration from the likes of John Digweed, Nick Warren and Sasha, to forge a path into the world of progressive house. Alex's groovy melodic sound found its footing quickly thereafter, as he notched releases via Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Moving forward, 2020 proved to be a breakout year for the Nijkerk resident. On the strength of projects for Replug and The Soundgarden, Alex rose to Beatport's #3 best-selling progressive house producer, paving the way for 2021 releases via Guy J's Lost & Found and UK behemoth Anjunabeats. Now as 2022 takes shape, Alex continues his fruitful relationship with Replug, presenting a third and much anticipated artist showcase for the label entitled ‘Space Age'.

EP opener and title selection ‘Space Age' finds Alex operating at the peak of his creative powers. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; it's wobbly basslines and flickering percussive arrangements resonate on a transcendent level. Fluid and trippy across the first movement, Alex continues his stylized ways with timely vocal fragments and supernatural effects creating a colourful path into the main break. Sitting comfortably in an ethereal yet thought provoking space, submerged beats rise out of intoxicating atmospheres as the interlude evolves, eventually spearheading a groove-centric drop and mystical finale.

Rounding out the release is ‘Aperon' which lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Alex reaffirms his instinctive ability to tip a dancefloor over the edge, planting multiple explosions of serotonin through wavy melodies, clustered effects and disorientating projections. Clever co-actions make for a break that is both surreal and tense, flowing through undulating rhythms and cascading melodies, before confidently returning to the groove for a sweeping aerial finale.

With ‘Space Age' Alex continues his journey across the electronic cosmos, presenting two crushingly catchy productions steeped in colourful musicality and thought-provoking atmospherics.

Tash's Movement Limited rounds out the month of November by welcoming Not Demure back to the label for a new single. Born in Argentina and now based in Spain, Not Demure has made impressive strides since first emerging in 2017. In finding a perfect balance between progressive and organic house, the Mar del Plata native would receive support from world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sebastien Leger, while also showcasing his music via Deepwibe Underground, Mango Alley, Univack and more. The Movement label collective has also been a comfortable home for Not Demure, with four originals and a remix released since making his debut in 2021 with 'New Resilience' via Movement Limited. Now, following a contribution to Meanwhile's 'Excursions' series, Not Demure makes a welcome return to Movement Limited with 'The Midnight Gospel'.

Continuing to showcase a deeper side of his repertoire, Not Demure crafts a superb stand alone track in 'The Midnight Gospel'. A Dj friendly intro sets a lovely mood with wispy atmospheres and orbiting effects blanketing buoyant beats and chunky basslines. Exotic drums and misty melodies add a splash of rhythm and colour to what is a mature no frills arrangement, perfectly leading to a celestial sounding break and smooth rhythmic finale, one that's well suited to a morning or daytime dancefloor.

Analog Jungs - Phoenix (Subandrio Remix)

Reinvigorating their collaborative partnership Dmitry Molosh and Michael A return to Cid Inc's Replug Records with 'Integral'. Hailing from Belarus, both Dmitry and Michael sit amongst progressive music's elite guard. Their respective solo productions continue to earn play and support from the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while also landing them releases on Hope Recordings and Sudbeat Music. Also calling Replug a comfortable home, Dmitry and Michael now return to the label with their first collaborative project in almost four years.

Much loved for their exploration of all things progressive and groovy, the Belarus duo exceeds expectations here, delivering two stunning pieces of music beginning with the title selection 'Integral'. Set in motion by a warm, chunky foundation, its robust core comes up quickly, with layers of finely tuned drums, crunchy rhythms and squelchy synths uniting in a fiery sonic comet. Shifting energy into the main break, heartfelt harmonics and fragmented melodies gently blanket the electric underbelly, resonating on a higher frequency as tasteful modulation rises and the groove drops for a chugging finale.

Operating on a similar sonic plane is the companion piece 'Twelve Days'. Otherworldly in nature, tough beats and dark stabs anchor the journey as the piece flows through a series of pulsating rhythms and mind-bending effects. Continuing on an unpredictable storyboard, ominous overlays and percussive flashes highlight the first act, perfectly setting up an icy break. Adding further intrigue, a wave of tranquil arps provide an effervescent foundation for the duo's dystopian soundscapes, before building to a granular sizzle as a rush of drums ignites a powerful crescendo. It caps off a hugely successful project from two of progressive music's most talented artists, further solidifying Replug's place at the top of this burgeoning genre.
