Qdup is flying high into 2019 after continuing his string of original singles on Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings. His DJ touring kept him busy last year including DJ sets at Shamhala Music Festival & Bass Coast (Four Deck Set with Fort Knox Five), Motion Notion and Joshua Tree Music Festival (DJ Performance with EVeryman). 2019 looks to be a good year as Qdup has been hard at work cooking up new beats to bring to you. 

First up for Party Platters Vol. 1, “Love Rap Thang” is a strong Disco Break that is like a 70’s Soul Train Line and a classic Hip Hop MC got together and made a love child. Qdup’s beats and bass marry the classic party rap vibe with new school production prowess that really hits a sound system right. This will get the party moving! As the name suggests, “Funk Over Here” has all the funk in the trunk to make the bass bins bump. It’s infectious bass line and call and response vocal chants will have the dance floor saying “Hell Yeah”. Pure vibes! French duo Prosper & Stabfinger continue to deliver funked out gems, with each release building on their considerable talents. Hot on the heels of their recent remix EP, the duo drop the delightful new track 'Get Your Body Groovin' which, if possible with these producers, takes the funk to a whole new level. Infact, this could be their strongest release to date with Bombstrikes. Think a P-funk esque groove, impeccable vocals from Georges Perin, allied with precision beats and on point production and that will give you a good idea of this track. Alongside a dub version of the track there is also support in the form of a solid Beatvandals remix of their 2017 classic 'Dopeness', which flips the script completely turning the track into a summer Disco Weapon, while keeping essence of the original.

Glasgow’s funkiest, Shaka Loves You will kick off the new decade for Bombstrikes in style as the first release of 2020. The last 12 months have been an amazing year for SLY, playing many of the UK’s finest festivals, a new monthly show on London’s Soho Radio and also releasing a number 1 selling compilation; Disco Funkin’ Volume 1. Judging by this first music endeavor of 2020, it’s not hard to understand why they are unique in what they do and ones to watch out for this year. The two tracks here continue the disco goodness with the title track ‘Love is true’ delivering an infectious vocal refrain and Shaka’s trademark live percussion with funk laden grooves. This is alongside the mighty ‘Disco Weapon 2’ which does exactly what it says on the tin and after the massive success of the first Disco Weapon, which was supported by the likes of Defected head honcho Simon Dunmore and Glitterbox Radio, has been waited for with some excitement. The first of many releases for the SLY this year and another essential release for Bombstrikes.

Kenny Beeper aka Big Ken. He’s the kind of guy to give you a satisfyingly painful slap on the back, then buy you a cold one. He’s always on point, known for catching koalas when they fall out of trees with his enormous hands. 

To put it simply, he’s a bloody good sport! Which is why he’s knocked up two banging tracks for free download. Hopefully it’ll keep everyone feeling funk drenched during these turbulent times. 

First up is “Groove Thang”. A succulent mash-up of Zhane and Lauren Hill with some serious P Funk vibes popping along for the parade. Equipped with a modern vibe and backed up with a familiar sound it’s guaranteed to satisfy any dance floor. (When we’re allowed back on them!) 

Hot on its heels is “Get Up & Dance” which is what any damn fool will do when they hear this. He’s taken the tempo up a notch and given the house genre a reach around. Expect serious synth action alongside Bambatta’s Vox resulting in a weighty neck snapper you’ll keep on repeat for weeks.
