Waifs & Strays first appeared among the new wave of house-leaning producers to emerge from Bristol's ever fertile music scene alongside friends like Eats Everything and Julio Bashmore and today, we celebrate the Waifs & Strays Toolroom debut, 'Bounce'. 

The release list of labels reads like a who's who of grade A outlets that include Viva, Hot Creations, Of Unsound Mind, Lost and plenty, plenty more. 

At the root of the Waifs & Strays sound is tough, groovy house music and that is exactly where' Bounce' sits. A fun record that will put a smile on your face and some groove in your soul. That bass line causes some serious damage when it lands and with those vocal chops riding away throughout, you can expect this certified club weapon to get a good airing from now right into Summer

Croatian duo PEZNT, aka Blacksoul and Mark De Line, make their debut on DFTD with their sunshiny ‘Down Under EP’ after the production duo appeared on the Defected Croatia 2017 compilation with their bongo-heavy ‘Burek’. Making a very strong start, lead track ‘Toxic Love’ received the Most Rated stamp of approval on the Defected Radio Show long before release. It features infectious vocals from Gregers laden with a deep bassline and piano riffs delivering pure summertime vibes. ‘Down Under’ boasts the same positivity with its down-tempo beat, dreamlike keys and filtered vocal stabs. An upbeat debut release by the duo, promising nothing short of feel-good records.

Some are more established and some absolutely brand new, but these Samplers are a great way to introduce some of these names to the world through RD and give them a platform to shine whilst we help them work on their Full EP'S to follow soon.
