Our next Mechatronicast is by @briskioddoswald. Hailing all the way from San Francisco, where he started his career in the city's warehouse party scene and held residencies at Re:body & As You Like It.

Having lived in both San Francisco and Dallas, Oswald built up strong ties with their underground scenes, before eventually moving to Barcelona in 2013.

There his Odd Oswald project came to fruition as well as DJ duo 'Odd Parents' together with Maars and has been working under the Ellum Audio and Lone Romantic flag ever since.

After several years of producing and touring throughout Europe and South America with the Ellum Audio family, Oswald started his own event series 'Cult' in Barcelona with parties at Club Moog, Switch Bar & Laut, inviting undergrounds heaviest players like Lokier, Photonz, Orbe, Jensen Interceptor, Delta Funktionen and many others.

With releases on Science Cult, Kompakt & Audio Obscura, remixing dark disco's finest Moderna & Theus Mago on Side UP Works, Odd Oswald presents his distinctive taste for music that is dark & grooving, slick yet rugged, powerful & often obscure cinema inspired. Music that's built for the clubs and his mix for Mechatronica showcases exactly that.

The nickname may suggest something aggressive, but it only points to the violence that is an inherent part of the creative act, while also referencing the most elemental and omnipresent component of our lives today. Here a data attack is nothing more than the relationship between art and our senses in its purest state, regardless of the form it takes. And whether in his poignant visual work or in his powerful musical work, it is this primal impulse that fuels the imagination of Brasilia native Stenio Freitas.

After all, he expresses himself in an already long-lasting career as an audiovisual chronicler of the human and inhuman aspects of their hometown, as an architect of the recovery of public spaces through mural interventions and as a director of events that were part of a movement that injected energy into nightlife of the capital during the last decade. It was within the IMÃ collective and its Grau parties that he materialized his initial impetus in this field, in an impulse that was followed by many other initiatives and extended to the present day, including transformative projects such as SUB IN MUNDO as part of the collective SUJO or the SNM Sessions and Electro Resistência with the SNM core to its own legendary Crying Club parties.

Thus, the rediscovery of urban, dreamlike, aesthetic and community dimensions relegated to abandonment or oblivion is the main theme of his work as a music selector and cultural producer. Something that manifests itself even more clearly in its presence on the Nice & Deadly label, an endeavor in which it not only plays a curatorial role, but mainly transposes the ethics and aesthetics it applies to its other activities in putting together an impeccable catalogue. One that is based not only on revisiting genres and reevaluating styles in an uncritical or anachronistic way, but reinventing them for our times.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
