Nico Schimmelpfennig was born in  in Berlin. In his childhood he liked the instrumeltal versions of many songs and particularly listened to the bass. At the age of 20, he became interested in minimalist and experimental sounds. He visited Berlin clubs like "Tresor", "M-Bia," "Maria", "RAW-Tempel" and others. One year later, he began to work as a music producer. He worked his way into music production software like "Fruity Loops" or "Ableton Live".
Together with some friends, he founded a record label and made his first experiences as a DJ. In 2010 he found the right place for himself at "Delude Records". When he's behind the controls / at the mixer, he entertains the audience of Berlin's nightlife with his repertoire of dark, psychedelic sounds.

Zwischen Olivenbäumen, Sandstrand und türkisem Meer erblickte Janni im Frühjahr 1986 auf einer Insel nahe Thessaloniki (Griechenland) das Licht der Welt. Überlieferungen aus der griechische Mythologie zu Folge, sorgte Dionysos – griechischer Gott des Weines und der Ekstase – dafür, dass Janni in Mitten eines Kreises aller Inselbewohner geboren wurde. Die Inselbewohner tranken Ouzo und Wein, sangen und tanzten Sirtaki. Offensichtlich wusste Dionysos schon vor seiner Geburt, dass ab dem 04. April 1986 eine Lücke in der griechischen Götterwelt geschlossen wird.
So wurde DJ Janni Salpingidis die Musik in die Wiege gelegt und die Kunst der Ekstase sein Lebensauftrag. Geprägt von südländischer Lebensart, aufgewachsen mit deutscher Disziplin und geformt von elektronischer Tanzmusik holte er sich Inspiration und Einflüsse fernab der griechischen Wurzeln in süddeutschen Clubs. Nach jahrelanger Inspiration besinnte sich Janni auf sein Lebensauftrag und fing an selbst an den Plattentellern zu drehen.
Mit seinem Gefühl für das feiernde Volk versetzt er das Publikum explosionsartig auf seinen Olymp und löst die Grenzen zwischen der Realität und Jenseits durch impulsive Klänge auf. Treibend und taktvoll bringt er jedes Tanzbein zum schwingen.
Er liebt dunkle durch Laser beleuchtete Räume in Ekstase zu bringen und im Sommer auf Festivals (Tagtraum, Campus Open-Air) elektrifiziert er das Gefühl von Sommer, Strand, Bässen und Beats.
Ersten Gigs 2006 folgten Weitere und seit 2011 legt er wöchentlich in verschiedenen Clubs auf. Ob Durstlöscher Partys, Synchro Partys oder Big Bang – DJ Janni Salpingidis ist dabei die zwölf olympischen Götter um einen Dreizehnten zu erweitern.
