From the first beat, Venga draws you in with percussive layers that feel alive, shifting and mutating as hypnotic pads breathe through the mix. It’s a dancefloor-focused release, but with a cinematic edge — minimal in structure, yet rich in atmosphere.

About the Ep:
See Double, the burgeoning dance imprint fronted by Luca Cazal and Brigante, will kick off 2018 with its first ever digital V/A compilation, a six tracker celebrating the wealth of talent shared amongst the label bosses’ close knit group of like minded contemporaries. Fully equipped with floor-filling energy, SD006 deftly explores the driving and tripped out permutations of deep and minimal house, best suited for the dim lit basements of Europe and farther afield.

The compilation offers material from preceding See Double artist Boris Werner, this time in collaboration with Tuskegee’s Bas Ibellini to concoct the funk laden weapon ‘Pump my Ish’. ‘Posh Chocolate’ comes courtesy of mysterious entity The Laburnum Boys Club, filled with analogue crunch and modular synthesis. Kaoz Theory affiliate and fabric regular Stephane Ghenacia steps up with the beautifully constructed ‘Bleu’, whilst Manchester’s rising talent Josh Baker ups the minimalism with ‘Frequencies’.

Following releases on Mr KS and Ghenacia’s Highpath, Taymor Zadeh comes correct with the mesmeric ‘Galadria’, propelled forwards by a rolling bass arp and snappy percussion. Former See Double artists Jonny n’ Travis close the compilation with an original production entitled ‘Perception’, both uplifting and reflective in equal measure.

SD006 will be released exclusively via Beatport and streaming services on March 2, then all other digital outlets come March 16.

Revolutionary DJ and producer Matador presents his exciting debut release for Hot Creations Wildside this July. It features two contrasting tracks that stay true to the ethos of the label synonymous with White Isle hedonism.

"I've been playing with the Hot Creations/Paradise crew for a few years now, so it was about time to deliver. I wrote this EP last summer in the height of Ibiza action. It started it in a hotel room and finished at home in the studio the following week, it sums up my vision of afternoon shuffles and sweaty late-night action on the island" Matador

Wildside opens with spirited percussion of shakers and snare rolls, reverberating into a fuzzy and infectious bassline groove. The playful sample is looped over crazy effects and bright keys, before dropping into a final crescendo that will have feet stomping in unison. Sweet Release retains a classic deep house sound with dreamy chords and lush synth. The track develops with warm sub-bass, piano, arpeggiation and soulful vocals, resulting in a summertime anthem.

Matador has made his mark on the electronic music world since the very beginning, producing a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, becoming a brand ambassador for MODEL 1 and featuring in Resident Advisor’s ‘Top 20 Live Acts’ for three years in the early part of his career. In 2016 he launched his label RUKUS, releasing music from emerging and established artists alike. Spanning genres and formats he has made music for Sky TV and British Airways, his vinyl-only series Cyclone is firmly rooted in techno, whilst the stream only album Tuesday presents an exquisite take on ambient. His collaboration with Zurich’s Tonhalle Orchestra again highlighted his dexterity as a truly authentic musician. 2020 sees the launch of Matador’s podcast series focusing on studio gear and featuring interviews with touring artists. His new live performance ‘Live 2.0’ is also forthcoming and will feature hotly anticipated new music.

Producer, engineer and DJ extraordinaire Reset Robot is the alias of Dave Robertson, an accomplished artist based in Portsmouth on the south coast of the UK. Since launching the pseudonym in 2009 he has traveled the globe, DJing at many of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, as well as rolling out a slew of well-received productions on labels such as Drumcode, Mobilee, Hotflush and his own platform Whistleblower Records. 

As a DJ Reset Robot’s unassuming approach belies his magnetic appeal and innate ability to craft sets that are polished, enthralling and full of shadowy allure. A self-confessed studio hound, he spends all day, every day at the controls, allowing creativity to flow out of him and refining his skills. Two decades of experience feed into his output, and he prefers to keep things uncomplicated in the studio. The resultant sound is his signature; brooding, sombre, yet accessible and contagious. 

Reset Robot’s visceral rhythms infect your subconscious urging you to dance, while captivating motifs and riffs stay with you long after the rave has ended; earworms of the highest order. It’s a sound that has caught the attention of tastemakers across the industry, picking up releases with some of the most respected labels around.

With a live show being developed behind-the-scenes and a debut album, ‘Spiral Of Silence’, due for release in the summer, Reset Robot is entering a new phase of his musical life; confident, content and highly-motivated to keep on unleashing new productions, he is looking to the future with an renewed air of optimism and energy.
