The next instalment of the RA Podcast comes from Nottingham-based DJ and producer Matt Tolfrey.

Lucifía (Ange Barnett) is a long-time lover of techno and a passionate advocate for underground electronic music. Her stage name, a play on her given name and a nod to Lucifer the fallen angel, reflects the dark, driving sound that defines her style.
Lucifía’s journey into the scene began in the late '90s in Melbourne, where she cut her teeth at local bars and gritty warehouse parties like Super Nature at the iconic Public Office. Fueled by an insatiable hunger for harder beats, she soon took her sound abroad—eventually landing in Europe in search of deeper sonic territory.
It was in the free outdoor parties around Barcelona that Lucifía found her tribe—true techno purists. Despite not speaking Spanish or Catalan, she connected through music alone. During her time in Spain, she evolved her sound to include hard-tech, acid techno, minimal, and raw electro, adding depth and diversity to her DJ sets. She became part of the Combustion collective, throwing renegade parties in abandoned castles, forests, and industrial spaces throughout Catalonia. Over the next five years, Lucifía tore up dance floors at countless events, including the infamous Tasmaniac rave parties.
After returning to Melbourne, Lucifía pursued her other creative passion: animation and motion graphics. Under the name VJ Pixel Angel, she made a name for herself in the visual arts scene, performing at major events such as Subsonic Music Festival, Chi Wow Wah Town, Rainbow Serpent Festival, The Enchanted Garden, Gertrude Street Projection Festival, Techno vs Psy-Trance, and Hardware Theory.
Despite her success as a VJ, Lucifía never left her decks behind. In recent years, she's been making a strong resurgence in Melbourne's techno underground, spinning at events like Squelchy Sessions, Freeq the Creek and Tilt Shift.
