I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

The event formed part of the week-long Boston festival, which has been running since 2010. This year's edition also featured Andy Stott, DVS1 and Total Science, fanning out across a number of bars and clubs in the historic Cambridge neighborhood.

So it's been a long long time since i have posted a live set.
This was recorded at the 1st Birthday at 212 Leeds.
Having played the first party - it was amazing to see how far the club has come - set to be an institution for music that refuses to be governed by names and profile and is purely about music.
It's starting to feel like home - and a place where i will hopefully get to spend some time helping establish what I can see becoming a really important venue.
Not often that I play on rotary mixers and it is definitely a different style of DJing - but I loved how this recording sounded ...

Exciting times are ahead!!  Right now I’m flying to India, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka for 3 gigs over the holidays.  Immediately afterwards I’ll be making the long and difficult move to Berlin.  The US has been my home for over 30 years and I’d like to thank everyone who has ever helped me and shown me support along the way.
