Brooklyn’s Jacques Renault is a dance music polyglot. In his long career he has undertaken, and succeeded with, many different projects. Whether working solo or collaboratively, turning out original productions or cultured edits, DJing around the world or running his labels On The Prowl and Let’s Play House, he always comes correct. His sound is impossible to pin down as evidenced by his broad and sweeping DJ sets which range from Italo to techno, Afro to disco and back again. 

With this mix we find him in fine form across three enthralling and widescreen hours that showcase his democratic approach to digging. Effortlessly drifting from slow and tropical grooves to party starting disco, it embodies the sound of summer, of late afternoon BBQs and sunset sessions before getting more groove driven later on. Bubbly, breezy house becomes the order of the night, and it’s all underpinned by a loose and playful sense of love for the good times.

Its lockdown 3, we're all a bit weary so what better tonic than a fresh edition of the Reframe. This month we support another of Leeds many up and coming talents with Mezla joining The Reframe with a guest mix for the last hour of the show.

DJ, resident and curator for the established club night Limit and @lwr-music (Limit x Revamp x WTS).  Event manager, booking agent & Resident @distriktbarleedsevent. Mezla has a nice versatility to his repertoire with sets weaving between different realms of house & techno, breaks, acid, leftfield, disco, italo through to slow chugging trippy sonics. His mix for the reframe falls in that latter chug slo mo frame. 

This month the Reframe kicks off the show with ventures into deep electronics with a slow building collection setting out at 90bpm and moving up into mid tempo 19 bpm territories.
