Joey Anderson from NYC first surfaced on our radar from his track Oval provided on Dj Qu’s Strength Music imprint back in 2008 for the Exchange Place Cold Case Files EP. Joey has now started to push out releases on his own label Inimeg Recordings which see  releases guided by the stars and constellations at night as the labels inspiration comes from the Gemini star sign spelt backward. More recently the first release on Joey’s 2011 Inimeg Recordings release Organisms featuring Joey himself and Dj Qu pushing that intricate drum programming, subtle mood changes and details that align and traverse like shooting stars and stripes made out in the sky has been captured by many and represented in many online reviews ,Dj charts, mixes, blogs and further

Following in the wake of other like-minded East Coast producers like Levon Vincent, Anthony Parasole and Fred P, Joey Anderson is the latest offering in a fresh load of artists hailing from New York. Like his predecessors the American reached a wider audience at a relatively late age, and also like those before him, Anderson can do a lot with very little. The art of omission is mastered by this techno stalwart, who quickly became a Dekmantel family member by both performing at our events and releasing an impressive album on Dekmantel Records.

This 12th instalment to the Dekmantel podcast series sees a beautifully build up mix. As Joey proofed at his Panoramabar set in March, he warms up a crowd like no other. This mix starts of with some deeper tracks, examplarery for the New York sound Joey represents. Towards the end the podcast becomes more techno and features “1974” from his latest EP on the Dekmantel label.

We don't have a tracklist, but Fracture had this to say about his mix;
"Firstly I'd like to say thanks to Solid Steel for inviting me to contribute to the series. The mix I've put together showcases a lot of the stuff I've been playing out, some forthcoming stuff on Astrophonica and some more experimental stuff that doesn't necessarily suit the club. The genres are all quite blurred, but I guess thats becoming a bit of a cliche now . . ."

One of the most requested tracks from our BIS mix of unreleased tracks, we feel it apt to get this one mastered up and give it away!

Produced early last year, this version was actually a rough demo. We went on to change the track considerably, evolving it into what became $tripper. However with some space we came back to it and actually loved it's raw feel. This led us to test her out on our BIS mix - And here she is! 

NY/UKG crossover feel... fun 'n' bumpin', hope you like it!
