His work raises crucial and provocative questions around class, identity and the human condition, as well as running themes around nightlife and DJ culture. Welsh has always harbored an avid love of electronic music—and acid house specifically.

In this live keynote interview at the Night Time Industries Association conference at E1 in London, he talks to RA's Senior Producer, Chloe Lula, about his enduring love of nightlife as well as the grueling creative process, his new record label and how club music has changed with the advent of new music production technologies and the rise of the bedroom techno producer. NYC-based Jonathan Lundquist, known as IT-XPO, is a Delayed regular for a good reason. The Chicago native never disappoints, regularly putting out exceptional DJ mixes, an impressive amount of live mixes that are somehow always full of fresh material, and of course his releases. 

Today we feature Lundquist’s second mix on Delayed, this time with an hour and a half of dance floor-oriented music. The most distinct characteristic of IT-XPO’s music is its dedication to emotion without compromising on unrelenting grooviness. This mix is no different. Opening on a “high” note with Lawrence’s Oolong High, and sustaining the energy throughout the 90 minutes, this mix will have you locked in and unwittingly swaying nonstop. The first hour is house à la Mr. G, before shifting to higher energy with hypnotic basslines and melody mania. 

IT-XPO has been and will keep putting out beautiful electronic music for years, and we are extremely happy to be able to support such an incredibly passionate who also just so happens to be our neighbor.

Now, this one is technically cheating a little bit... It's not quite a mix but a live set but who really cares? 

Anyway, Alex Albrecht is a producer and dj from Australia. He releases music under the guise of Melquíades and has done so to great acclaim for Scissor & Thread and his own Analogue Attic imprint. He also produces music alongside Sean La'Brooy as part of a dynamic duo who have appeared on Night Tide, Voyage Recordings and Butter Sessions to name a few. 

Alex has a sound which is fundamentally rooted in the deeper fringes of dance and electronic music. Drawing upon influences from the natural world his music could be described as a subtle blend of balearic intricacies, deep house, electronica and beyond. His sound is reminiscent of the nineties in which breaks and the ethereal ruled supreme under the principle of free thinking dance music and psychedelics. 

With a recent EP for Scissor & Thread and a new collaborative release for Apollo Records he is having a busy summer. 

Presently on tour, this mix was recorded as a live set from somewhere along the way and it really is very special indeed.
