Phonica mix 124 is a truly special edition from not just one of London's finest collectors and selectors but one of our long time regulars; Nick The Record. 
Not only has Nick been a loyal friend of our shop in the years we have been open, he has also been one of the driving forces behind the London scene for nearly 30 years. Dealing records professionally to some of the biggest DJs in the world over the years as well as running several labels including his most recent outing Natural House - his knowledge in disco and house is impecible. He has displayed this in his vast deeply thought out sets over the years be it performing the closing set at some of Japan's best underground festivals or at his long running night Tangent with friend John Gomez, he is a definition of a digger. We had a chat with Nick about the mix and what he has coming up, even if we had to hold his flight to Japan for a couple of minutes!

I've been playing at Love International for ten years now (11 if you consider the year we started) and I've found records that are absolute favourites that for me suit the setting perfectly and they get an airing every year. For example Lark's 'Tedra'. A record that sounds perfect in that setting by the sea... Anyway, here's me from 6am

Here is the full recording of my recent return to one of my favourite places to play in Berlin. Georgia Bar, i started at 23.00 and finished just before 0700...just the way I like it. Playing many Voices classics and pretty much doing the full range. Settled into a firm house, uptempo groove too. And midway through the night, had people dancing in the booth, behind up on the ledge and on the stage. So I feel..job done :). There were a few sound issues during the mix but overall..its hopefully good for you and a litlte glimpse to what we can acheive musically from night til mid morning :). Trushmix 238 presents Sanctuary in the mix!
After their move from Australia, Sanctuary have been immersed in the Berlin scene for close to a decade, co-hosting the former Altered Soul Experiment nights and founding their label, Life Classics. The label started as a home for their edits, then later branched out into a mix series and club residency at OHM.

For Trushmix they made a one hour and forty minutes mix. House, deep tech and late 90´s top early 00´s on the menu. Loaded with firm favourites and a number of tunes we've been bumping in the clubs over the last few months. This one hits like a warm breeze so turn up the dial and roll off into the sunset.

In 1983 Tânia Alves released the album Novos Sabores. On it is Hauacharahu, a track that blends indigenous and Portuguese lyrics. I’ve extended it by adding a DJ-friendly intro and outro, repeated chores, stem separation, plus a few extra loops here and there.

Part of things since the early days of the Garden and an old friend of Nick and Eddie's from their San Fran days, Eric's been around the block, a couple of times. Out of Los Angeles but calling NYC his home for the best part of two decades before deciding to live out of a suitcase and give it the proper rock n roll vibes touring the world for the last couple of years. From running the legendary Rub N Tug parties to being described as the best editor on the planet right now by a certain DJ Harvey, Eric knows what's what when it comes to peak time party selection.
