I've always felt that radio and podcasts are for listening. If you want to hear me play club records, you can find me in one just about every weekend however this one is deep and incredibly sad… fitting for the times. I don’t actually listen to a lot of dance music at home. I have over 12k records, many of which are like this and a real reflection of interest.

The latest Off-Kilter audio submission is a dive into Or:la’s expansive vision of sound - a downtempo mix of slung drums, abstract electronics and heady vocals. As an artist, Or:la navigates effortlessly through many channels of electronic expression. Here, she revisits music from her influential past with a mix that is deep, meandering and rich with texture - nailing the brief with pin-point precision - and transporting us into a dream like state.

In her own words:
 "I kept to the ‘off-kilter' brief for this one and wanted to put together a mix you can just zone out to, with less of the twists and energy shifts I usually go for in my DJ sets. A lot of the tracks mean something personal to me like the Holger Czukay one at the very end, which I first heard at uni around 2012 while watching Morvern Callar in a film studies class - the whole soundtrack really stuck with me and ended up playing a big part in me drifting away from visual arts and getting into music."

Throughout Or:la's journey as an artist, the Derry-born producer and DJ has carved out her own niche and consistently strived to escape categorisation gaining her a BBC Radio 1 Residency, an Essential mix, and DJ Mag's ‘Best DJ’ award. From running DIY parties in abandoned shops whilst studying in Liverpool, to securing some of the best club residencies around the world, Or:la's story is organic and authentic.

Staying true to her explorative propensity, Or:la 's debut album arrived via Fabric Originals in 2024 and is a testament to her ability to fluidly traverse tempos and energies. Or:la takes a similarly chameleonic approach to her DJ sets - although there's an impalpable emphasis on melody, rhythm and texture, you never really know what you might get other than a preference to follow mood over genre. Orlagh Dooley's DIY mentality extends far beyond the DJ booth - as the boss of former Deep Sea Frequency and her current label, Céad, she nurtures a community of diverse artists who share her passion for less categorizable dance music including NIKS, Primrose, Blu Terra and FAFF. The label's releases emphasize quality and creativity across a wide sonic spectrum. Since her debut EP 'UK Lonely' on Hotflush Recordings in 2017, Dooley has collaborated on a broad range of remixes, from David Holmes/Killing Eve's "Unloved" to dance floor-focused labels like Spray and Woozy. Or:la continues to run her queer-focused event series ‘La Potion', which celebrates and shines a spotlight on queer creatives. Now based back in the UK, Orlagh Dooley remains integral to the clubbing scene as a promoter and community builder, pouring her heart and soul into the place where she found her musical voice.

Valentina Nemchenkova is a model by day and DJ by night, moonlighting as Santa Valentina for those who know her from the behind the decks.

Valentina’s music career all began in 2014 in her hometown Yekaterinburg in Russia as a promoter and a party host at club Dom Pechati. Thanks to her efforts she was responsible for showcasing international hotshots such as Lovefingers, Hugo Capablanca, Lee Douglas (An-i), Alexis Le Tan and Prins Thomas just to name a few.

In 2016 Santa Valentina moved to Moscow and was swiftly scooped up as a resident at the infamous Denis Simachev Bar and also became a regular name on the line up at St. Petersburg’s club Tancploshadka and Kuznya House.

After solidifying her name in Russia, Valentina has since shared her passion to other parts of the world, with gigs in Contra Club (Seoul), Silencio Club (Paris), Les Bains (Paris) and Salon Zur Wilden Renate (Berlin). Beyond the club she can also be seen and heard on the airwaves, with live shows on Red Light Radio (Amsterdam), SCR (Seoul), Rinse France Radio (Paris), Dublab Radio (Los Angeles), Roket Radio (Verona), and TEST FM (St Petersburg).

To throw more names into the mix, Valentina’s passion for fashion and music collide in collaboration with reputable fashion institutions such as Louis Vuitton, Marfa Journal and Vogue Russia.

Like all good DJs Santa Valentina can’t be defined by one music genre, which makes her sets eclectic and unpredictable. Ready to ensnare dance floors of any size with heartbreaking Italo edits, dramatic house, dark electro and trance with only one thing being certain, her hypnotic swaying behind the decks will always keep the energy frisky and romantic.

Now, together with a posse of Moscow based female Djs, she is channeling her experience with promoting and DJ’ing to create a nomadic club night called BABY. As always with anything associated with Valentina, it’s unapologetically sexy, both visually and sonically.

Originally, Auren comes from downbeat, ambient and slow electronica background. He had to break his own rules in order to move into different music direction, what with the time becomes more and more unknown for himself. This reflects in Aurens debut album, where the boundaries between styles, genres, known and modern dissolve. Most of the tracks were recorded live during his sleepless jams at his studio in Vilnius, Lithuania.
