BSV: Hi Vladimir! How are you? What are you doing today besides answering the uniform questions?
SOPHISTICATED: I am good, thank you for asking. I tidied up my apartment a bit and done with my morning ritual stuff. Later on I'm going for a walk around city, to get some fresh air and maybe some inspiration. :) Also, I am pleased that you invited me as a guest for this episode, because it's nice timing, just before the New Year and Christmas holidays. :)

BSV: You have been breaking through with numerous local performances lately. Does the quantity of performances force you to expand your repertoire, or you just pushing your story?
SOPHISTICATED: I am very open minded when it comes to (electronic) music, but luckily I know what I love to listen and spin. 21st century, internet, technology and other things brings worldwide DJ's and producers to collab and make tracks that are sometimes genres for itself. I like to grab those unique tracks and use them in my sets and gigs. And to be honest - YES, I am pushing my story! My mixing field is progressive house and melodic techno.

BSV: People often tell you that you look like Hernan Cattaneo. Do you like that comparison?
SOPHISTICATED: I always accept that with smile on my face. I don't know how much we look similar, but I think that was more comparable when I was younger and with longer hair... 

BSV: You are working overseas and due to new situation you are forced to spend more time in your hometown. Do you use that free time to plan track selections for your future sets?
SOPHISTICATED: Certainly! This is time when I can rest between my contracts and spend more time with my family and friends. BSV: On your way home from Miami to Europe via cruise ship you recorded plenty of mixes (all available on YouTube). Which one is your favorite?
SOPHISTICATED: Yes I did, and I am proud of that. I have recorded 16 mixes for 16 days sea days while crossing Atlantic ocean. All of those mixes are important to me. Listening those tracks and recording those mixes keep my positive attitude and mental health UP, which was maybe crucial in this difficult and strange times.

BSV: Your cup of tea when we talk about bpm range?
SOPHISTICATED: My bpm range varies from 120 bpm - 130 bpm, depends of session, gig, venue, line up, timetable etc. My cup of tea will be from 126 bpm - 128 bpm (as a headliner).

BSV: How do you come up with that artistic name? Someone suggested it?
SOPHISTICATED: Artistic name wasn't a friend suggestion. I've been thinking for years how should I name myself. I carefully listen all the tracks before downloading then, patiently choose tracks for recording mixes, sessions or doing live gigs. I'm in love with electronic music more than 16 years now and I am into DJ-ing since 2008. So, I am using handpicked tracks which already pass through filters of my music taste and nicely packed into folders, I know what is my cup of tea and how to pick my glass of wine... The name Sophisticated just poped up in my head at 2018. and since then it is my artist name.
