Bio:
Marcelo Malta, aka “MLTX” began his career in music at a very young age, guided by his father, a multi-instrumentalist. Drummer and Musician, he was part of Hardcore, Punk Rock, and Heavy Metal authorial bands, expanding his feelings and relationship with different rhythms & melodies. In 2015 he started attending big festivals and parties, developing a fondness for Techno and listening to renowned names, which influenced his musical taste until a friend encouraged him to begin DJing during the pandemic. Since then he has been playing at parties & podcasts around the world for Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, France, Colombia, Argentina, and others. With an ongoing label project, MLTX DJ sets emerge in a fusiontechno strand, a mix of Techno & Indie Dance / Dark Disco tracks, exploring new horizons and boundaries, performing strong and dark rhythms driving the melody through the beats like an electronic drummer.

BSV: Hello broski! Such a pleasure to have you here. Welcome to the crew of visionaries!
PETER PORTMAN: Hi @beatsoundvisions team! Thanks for having me on this episode. Winter just kicked in, I brought you some tunes to warm up a little bit!

BSV: This recording is a “hell of a job”. Where on earth do you find these tracks?
PETER PORTMAN: Thanks for kind words, yes I do a lot of digging, from promo pools from email over listening tracks from the sets, I think the urge to discover new tunes keeps me digging deeper than usual, and after all this is our job, right? 

BSV: You had China tour at the end of September. How was that experience?
PETER PORTMAN: The China tour was really above expectations. Even though it was for their holidays where everyone traveled domestic, or international. I think I've managed to feel the true vibe of the country. Food was awesome too! Once again big thanks to my team Uros & Leo for making it happen!

BSV: Munich, Paris, London, New York… We dance… Which scene is your favourite?
PETER PORTMAN: Every scene has its own charm, really depends on the mood and also culture. Personally or from my point of view  however you want to call it... Letting loose without phones and enjoying the moment itself.

BSV: People that follow you know that you like to experiment with sound and that you are not limited by particular genre. Are you able to describe your frequencies?
PETER PORTMAN: Sometimes I do find it difficult explaining myself, really it's up to reading the room, the crowd, and the mood I am currently in. As I said above I try to listen to as much as possible a wide variety of the music (also non electronic) so I can try to bring together into one unique frequency.  I think you just need to have patience and to be there when magic happens.

BSV: The wonderkid of Serbian electronic music scene, can we call you like that?
PETER PORTMAN: /

BSV: Do you believe in magic while playing Romanian minimal? 
PETER PORTMAN: I think I don't see myself as a Rominimal DJ at all. I am A DJ, and  music in general is magic and it can be both healing or damaging.

Q: Talking about your mix - early Rave classics. How did these tracks influence your career? And what do they still mean to you?

A: These tracks have influenced me to love Techno. When I look back, I can say it was the start of my career as a DJ.

Q: Your artist name and your imprint Katermukke became a huge brand over the years. How would you describe your own development?

A: I worked really hard and it has grown over years evenly. I didn’t expect it.

Q: Which exciting future projects are on the way?

A: I’m working on releases for 2020. So let’s see what’s coming from the lab.
