Argentina-born but Barcelona-based, Tunik's real home is at the forefront of the underground. As a DJ, he has a knack for unearthing overlooked records and turning them into hot ID requests. His fledgling production career has already yielded high-class results since 2020, with EPs on My Own Jupiter alongside its founder Nicolas Lutz, and more on Furthur Electronix. Each one is a blend of industrial cosmic sounds, with paranoid atmospheres and low-slung yet mechanical grooves that are both spooky yet seductive and next up is his A New Dawn EP on our own label. It further deepens Tunik's journey into dark wave synths and machine-made rhythms packed with emotion. 

He goes long on this week's podcast with a two-hour deep dive into his signature blend of house, techno and electro. There is plenty of room for everything from spaced-out rhythms to more corrugated machine funk. It's a forward-thinking selection that always feels like it comes back from the future whether deep and pensive or more jacked up and physical. A superb, floor-facing selection for non-stop dancing.

Since the release of his Colors EP on 129 rec, our boi Raph has been fine-tuning his long-awaited live debut. The reptile farmer performed across multiple venues in Europe, with recent highlights ranging from the upper deck of our favourite Berlin boat, to deep in the ravy woods of the Cévennes.

Alex @alex-pastor has become a standout figure in Miami’s music scene, earning a residency at Un_Mute’s highly acclaimed party series. His sets are a testament to his dedication to digging for unique records and his natural instinct for what gets people dancing.

“I always want to make those weird selections, out of left field," Alex explains. "My philosophy for deejaying has always been playing music that makes you move at the same time as catching you off guard. For this mix, I started with a blend of spooky, driving records on the mental side and let it evolve into high-energy electro breaks. The BPM gradually increases as the vibe shifts from dancey to trippy, creating an immersive journey."

Un_Mute Cast 06 - Alex Pastor

Barcelona-based artist Tunik, is a true master of synth-based music. So much so that the Argentinian is often one of the first artists that springs to mind when in need of a large dose of darkness. His productions and DJ sets speak to a higher power that sees his performances at the likes of Les Enfants Brillants, OUTPUT, and Razzmattaz in his adopted Barcelona, as well as a regular slew of the finest parties around the world. 

Being an in-demand artist doesn't stop Tunik from pursuing his own vision of electronic music. This was born in the shape of the Synth City project, and what followed was an evocative series of events at LEB. We are yet to even mention Tunik’s productions that only appear on labels that are at the vanguard of the underground. His longstanding connection to Dekmantel speaks volumes of the progression of his sound, as does his EP’s for Nicolas Lutz’ My Own Jupiter imprint and Further Electronix.

Tunik is without doubt a true force to be reckoned and we are thrilled to welcome him to our InSession podcast series. A self-confessed genre hopper, we are guided through a cosmic selection that all share an unspoken connection through the ethereal. Lush soundscapes soon give way to enticing breakbeats, mystic synths, and an unwavering groove that is as relentless as his own journey deep into the farthest reaches of his record bag. A sonic trip to truly induce a disconnect, we are certain that after one listen, you will be seeking out the Argentinian wherever possible.
