With the debut VA compilation of Basilica Blueprints laying the foundation for the label, Basilica now moves on to building higher and harder with the highly anticipated debut solo EP from UKBass heavy hitter, 9TRANE. 

9TRANE’s beginnings are a hard 140 instrumentalist featuring heavily previously on grime labels such as 1Forty have solidified hard hitting and gritty tonality to his sound. His progression into the 130 bass and techno scene then combined these elements with the groove and flow of techno and electro. 9TRANES percussion is a force to be reckoned with, slashing through the sonic walls of dark and dangerous basses and ethereal atmospherics.

The Slang EP builds a scene of intense suspense. Dark and ghostly halls of sound surround with distant swelling vocal cuts that build the wavering storm that is about to come crashing in. The storm then rolls in with an engulfing swell of deep and wobbling bass, sharp and crispy claps and percussion rolls through as the storm continues.
9TRANE’s releases have garnered the support of Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 1Xtra, the mighty Loefah on Rinse FM and many many more, along with lining up alongside the likes of My Nu Leng, Opium Hum and Red Light.

Local Action is very proud to present Rushing 1621, the first EP from a transatlantic meeting of minds and styles from two of our favourite artists: Om Unit and James Bangura. 

Based in Bristol, Om Unit is a titan of UK soundsystem music, pulling footwork, hip-hop, jungle, bass, techno, breaks and more into wild new shapes across an illustrious 15-year plus career.

DC’s James Bangura meanwhile has emerged as one of the most exciting artists on America’s east coast, releasing solo heat on labels like Incienso and !K7 and regularly touring the world as part of the Black Rave Culture collective, drawing from regional club styles across the States. 

The EP’s title Rushing 1621 is a reference to both artists’ area codes, so UK-meets-US synergy is the name of the game here (and if you know Local Action, you probably already know that this sort of thing is our catnip). Garage, house, breaks and even moments that recall early ‘00s proto-dubstep and dub-techno are all present, but really, it’s both artists’ immaculate drums and flawless production that drives this thing. Some records just feel unimpeachable, and this is one.

Entita makes his Dispatch debut with the Daily Routine EP - a four-track package that embodies his raw yet forward-thinking take on drum & bass.

Label boss Ant TC1 first connected with Entita after hearing (and supporting) an impressive LFLF EP, later meeting him in person at a Dispatch night in Prague. What followed was a long but rewarding creative process, with ideas being traded back and forth, mixes refined, and even an additional track left on the cutting room floor. The result is an EP that feels both carefully considered and brimming with energy.

The EP captures that spirit across four weighty cuts, capturing exactly that balance between the classic Dispatch DNA and his forward-facing sound. From Entita’s razor-sharp solo cut to the collaborative efforts with Serpnt, Yatuza and Furious Freaks, the EP delivers both grit and groove in equal measure. Expect rolling basslines, intricate drumwork, and that unmistakable raw funk that feels both nostalgic and refreshing.

With Quarter To Quarter, Amsterdam-based record label The North Quarter delivers its first compilation album: a manifesto and its most ambitious project to date.

The North Quarter is a collective of artists from around the globe, brought together through a shared love for the authentic. The imprint has become a household name in just a short space of time through ambitious and highly detailed artist projects. With Quarter to Quarter, a compilation of cutting edge Drum & Bass music, the label further solidifies its reputation and unique vision.

Never doing things the fast and easy way, the album was put together and nurtured by A&R and founder Lenzman over the course of 18 months.

Lenzman explains: “Way back when I first got into music, I wanted to share that magic with others. Today that same urge still endures within me.
