Respekt is ready to take this year's Amsterdam Dance Event by storm with seven tracks from our arsenal of heavy-hitters.

Showcasing the most cutting edge sounds around, no style is left unrepresented here. From the infectious, sonar-esque opener of Alex Karakasis' "Waveshaper" to the frantic, steamroller Techno of Dataminions, it's hard to stay uninfected when the proverbial needle drops.

For the headz out there, there is much to look forward to with mind erasers such as Spiros Kaloumenos' "Gravity" and Roman Gertz's menacing "Elastic Mind", guaranteeing brain cell decay.

The weekend will be damned indeed.

Axel Karakasis - Waveshaper (Original Mix)

The Emergence LP is just a small part of a larger audio-visual project, with many pieces of music that feature in the live shows but not on the album. Panned is a track that came from experiments with live surround sound shows where I use 6 or more channels to create spatial forms for each piece of music. I wanted to bring this experience to a stereo format, so I created a track with every element hard panned, with some extreme sounds to enforce the effect. 

The track is also built around some experiments with looping audio through analogue pedals - distortion, ring mod and delay. I had a lot of fun pushing the limits and making them squeal in a heavy sort of way, which lent itself to this intense form of track. (I also used some of the results in Trust, in a more subtle form).

That intensity was something which seemed a better fit for Joe than the normal album tracks, and I love his work and was keen to get him involved with the project, so we jumped in with a remix of Panned.

Sleaze are now up to their one hundred and forty fifth EP, a staggering amount of history in anyone books. Featuring original music also happens to be the Scottish label boss Hans Bouffmyhre with the release titled Beloved Thug.

Two remixes are in tow from Berliner Subjected and Edge Of Motion, which is the production alias of Dutch duo 2000 and One alongside DJ Madskillz.

Berlin based Subjected is behind the much loved label Vault Series and has also recently launched Subjected Systems, but of course has featured on other excellent imprints such as ARTS, Electric Deluxe, PoleGroup, Prosthetic Pressings and more.

The track we selected for this DT:Premiere is Subjected’s rework of the title track “Beloved Thug” that focuses on melancholic keys over a thundering beat. Powerful and raw, it’s full of emotion and subtle chord changes that really make this come alive and will most certainly deliver stunning, euphoric, dance floor moments.
