Italy’s fastest rising name in house and techno returns to the respected Drumcode imprint with this blistering new 4-track EP, ‘Climax’. Featuring a distinctive vocal sample crescending over a typically thumping bassline, opening lead track ‘Climax’ grows gradually with the introduction of a single synth note and skipping hi-hats. Two beatless breakdowns increase the pressure whilst a new synth melody is introduced in the second, making for a powerful ending as all the elements join together.

‘Boost’ starts out deep and dark, with a high-pitched call echoing over a determined beat. The track changes course mid-way through with the introduction of a bassy, low-pitched synth melody, helping ‘Boost’ evolve into a catchier, more playful track.

‘Spectre’, a no-nonsense closing piece featuring a jittering synth note, rattling hi-hats and a trademark tension-filled breakdown.

‘Over The Clouds’, as its name would suggest, is the gentlest of the four tracks. Filled with dusty textures over a rumbling bassline, twinkling synths move in waves before lower-pitched chords join, adding a real sense of depth to this production.

Overall, ‘Climax’ is an outstanding example of Faraone’s ear for detail as a producer: his experience as both a resident and touring DJ clearly feeds into his skill for manipulating tension in his productions like he does on the dancefloors. Having recently warmed up for Adam Beyer at Tenax, Marco Faraone’s relationship with the iconic label continues to grow.

Prospekt, Respekt's new talent incubator, is back for its sixth instalment with another trio of trailblazers.
First up are Belgian two-piece Bolster, who deliver a deserving lead track in 'Esoteric'. A masterful blend of crisp drums, aggressive synths and delicate choirs is a recipe for success in our book. 'Acid Waves' does exactly what it says on the tin, with a more direct, but no less effective approach.
Next up is a brace of bangers from Bruno Aguirre, with 'Someone Got Inside' and 'Mental Encounters'. 
Closing things out are another duo, this time hailing from Liverpool: Kusp. Presenting three different, but equally ballsy sides of their emerging style.

RESPEKT is the label manifestation of the internationally recognised artist duo Spektre. Derived from an anagram of Spektre, the Respekt label stands for the artist’s interminable belief in the underground soundtrack that spans the globe, and for the inspiration they gleam from producing, performing, and moving in the circles it revolves in.

As two of the most widely respected techno artists to come out of the UK in recent times, founders Paul Maddox & Richard Wakley have travelled the world in the past three years performing the Spektre LIVE show, to rapturous acclaim. While stealing the show at clubs around the globe, they have been inspired by cultures from every dance floor, and as producers they have released on the crème de la crème of techno's elite labels. 

Massive support has come from the likes of techno kings Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Dubfire and Laurent Garnier, while James Zabiela has championed them as his “ones to watch” and quotes “Spektre's productions consist of solid techno that really remembers the rave. The natural progression is their label RESPEKT, with the first release due at the end of November and another three before Spring serving as a build up to their eagerly anticipated debut studio album, due for release in early 2010.
