xquisite releases is ecstatic to present PARIDAIZA the new release by susu laroche. @tsvsvnami

the singular style of laroche’s sound comes to a calamitous head in PARIDAIZA, forging the basis of a sound the artist calls ‘dungeon debke’. 

the dungeon is felt, the walls and claustraphobia of emotion and darkness are eminating from each track but something is trancended and a place that could have meant torture or imprisonment becomes an escape into the beauty of ritual meditation and immanence.

the chants and calls that haunt laroche’s music recontextualise words from such sources as the ancient poet Rumi and the protest chants of the arab spring, melting the history and present of the middle east into a sonic tapestry of insurgence and spirituality that hypnotises.

laroche evokes queen tamar, first king/queen of georgia to renounce the gendering of her title. in PARIDAIZA susu takes as patron this figure of ancient rebellion.

My second release with the alias Guenter Råler was released on 20th October via Bene Tleilax, a label that I love run by a mastermind and dear friend Serena Butler.

It is available in limited tape and digital, distributed courtesy of Lobster Theremin.

For their second installment, more human than human Bene Tleilax imprint choose a real, hidden talent from the endless submerged underworld. Guenter Raler is a young tleilaxu with a strong attitude for mutations and blending realities, where weightless grime and post-techno convive with a singular taste for contaminated ghost malwares and delicate non-binary trajectories. Mobile Energy is a journey into digitally-represented emotions, drowned into a shapeless reality. The ep is an overwhelming and transforming flux of music, a comfortable space filled by neon lights. The boundaries of Guenter Råler’s music are blurred: no predicted end, no repetition.

Pianos, pulsos metálicos y un diseño de sonido desafiante se entrelazan con grabaciones de aullidos animales, resampleadas y procesadas con un manejo soberbio de la técnica del stretch.

Ocho canciones surgidas de la presunta contradicción entre lo orgánico y lo electrónico. Generando una extraña convivencia de sonidos, estados y sentimientos totalmente diferentes entre sí, encaminando el aparente caos de la concepción del álbum hacia el puzzle narrativo que es Sinda [SWT017].

With the will of exploring the connection and intersection between the natural and digital worlds, Marco Henri debuts in SWEAT with Sinda [SWT017].

Pianos, metallic pulses and a defiant sound design are interlaced with recordings of animal howls, resampled and processed with overwhelming stretch skills.

Eight songs that arise from the alleged contradiction between the organic and the electronic. Generating a strange coexistence of sounds, moods and feelings totally independent from each other, taking the apparent chaos of the album’s concept, to the narrative puzzle that is Sinda [SWT017].

Recording and sampling are used to recognize and construct patterns from the mass of sonic material and associations present not only in the web’s archives, feeds, and stacks but in memory and personal history. 

Archive Poem was originally intended to be sourced entirely from digital fragments and ephemera found on the Internet Archive. During the development, material from a wide range of sources including social media, voice memos, field recordings, and midi composition has been added. At its core, the piece is an attempt to consciously digest the sonic material of the personal digital life. 

Midwestern sacred music is built from recordings of Catholic masses and contemporary Catholic hymns found primarily through YouTube. Its structure loosely mimics the form of Catholic liturgy. The piece is meant to act as both a critique of contemporary religious spaces and an attempt to transform the sonic material of these spaces into something genuinely personal and meditative.

KhalilH2OP follows up their recent Isoscele EP with their new album Seid for Posh Isolation.

Seid and KhalilH2OP is the collaborative effort of Yen Towers, NikkiH2OP and Minais B, three musicians and producers all from Copenhagen. NikkiH2OP is best known as the vocalist in the pop establishment When Saints Go Machine, Yen Towers has long been working with Posh Isolation under his solo moniker and as a part of the valorous Age Coin duo, and Minais B is known for his solo work and involvement with the label Anyines. Seid is the second album by KhalilH2OP, following up on the esteemed “The Water We Drink” from 2017. Their song “Rest My Head Against A Wall Of Water” soundtracked the runway for Chanel’s Paris SS 18 show.

Over 13 tracks Seid unfolds its organism. Like a cosmic tale between the oxygen breathing and spirit badlands, Seid is an ever-changing esoteric landscape concocted of discussions between nature and a carp.

“How could you ever believe you were the center when even I have no idea of who I am? How come you have a name when not even the bowl that holds all water has one? A kind of beauty that never stays the same should have a more beautiful name.”

Seid tells the story of how we inspired nature’s jealousy, like describing an instrument that prises LEGO apart. Nature is inspired by everything in it, from beauty to terror.

Seid will premiere at CTM festival as an audio visual installation at 4D sound studio Monom at Funkhaus.

Cherubic voices, sparkling drums, and drones on their way back home from an all-nighter set the scene for this compilation. 19 artists have made sonic references to the hormone that acts to regulate our wellbeing. This is the second release from a series that is musically themed on psycho-sensory states of happiness, or the lack thereof.

Profits from this release will go to the Black Cultural Archives and Raw Music Media. 2 Brixton based organisations / charities.
