Best known for the tracks Bassline (Defected) and Vibe Out Ft Wiley (MTA Records), GotSome have had a strong two years since they burst on to the scene in 2014, Monki’s Zoo Music continues to be a reliable source of burly, UK-centric club music as the BBC Radio1 & 1Xtra DJ follows up releases from Woz & Troy Gunner and Kalyde with a single from Bristol duo GotSome. Leftwing & Kody debut on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint with a thunderous four tracker. Rumbling low-end and dusky atmospherics make up the basis of ‘Telepathy’ as otherworldly pads and suspense filled breakdowns ebb in and out of the cut. Crunchy percussion, chopped samples and energetic rave stabs then forge ‘Acid 16’ before a gyrating bassline and echoing synths generate the low-slung ‘Labyrinth’. Concluding the package, ‘Inception’ combines eerie melodies with stuttering kicks for mesmerising results.
