Ephyum is a drum & bass producer hailing from Italy, and he joins ProgRAM for their forthcoming single and one of its final chapters for 2021. Delivering his charismatically polished yet darkly ominous sounds, Ephyum pulls no punches with every track he lets loose on his audience. The sister-label of RAM Records, ProgRAM is also renowned for its harder underbelly and Ephyum is the perfect example of that.

The thumping draws of ‘Knockback’ with its driving LFOs gives a backdrop to its flipside ‘Diaphanous’, following with an ominous intro alongside groove chiseled by its biting drums. So once again, it’s time to get with the ProgRAM. Taking you down into its deeper trenches for another release.

Ephyum - Knockback

One of the founders of R.C.R's science and technology department Phame fell into a deep coma a few months ago. The reason was the contact with an anomaly formed on the territory of the atomic reactor. Phame has long studied the spatial gap that formed after the explosion of the reactor. He assumed that the anomaly itself could hide many secrets and be the key to the rescue of all humanity. The motionless body of the scientist was discovered by the scouting group and the anomaly itself disappeared.
The scientist's vital signs were stable but Phame did not respond to external pathogens. For two months the best minds of R.C.R tried to awaken him but they were unsuccessful until they tried audio therapy. The body of the scientist began to be exposed to musical frequencies after which they noticed how the fingers on the hands began to clench. Soon Phame came to his senses and the first thing he said:
 - It's all a lie! Sheer deception!
The received report from Phame:
I woke up in a picturesque place near the city remembering nothing. At the first glance the world was full of life, no apocalypse and no radiation. The only scary thing was that there was not a single sound. The silence put pressure on the brain. As I got closer to the city I began to look at people's faces. All had their mouths sewn together and their ears were torn off. I tried to scream but I couldn't. Looking at the shop window I saw the reflection of my face, it was disfigured like the others. Everything around abruptly turned into chaos, fire raged everywhere, people burned in agony but a frightening silence persisted.
I felt pain and fear and did not understand whether this was reality or a dream. Terrifying events were replaced by serene ones again and again. I felt the penetration of an alien consciousness into my own. It mockingly laughed at me, it was amused by my torment. I didn't hear the laughter myself, but I felt it in my gut. The memory eluded me and it became more and more difficult for me to control it.
Suddenly I heard familiar music somewhere very close. I determined the direction from which the sounds were coming from, and ran there with the last of my strength, resisting the entity holding me. The nightmare abruptly ended and I woke up in the laboratory among colleagues looking at me in surprise with smiles on their faces.
From all this I realized that the anomaly I had come into contact with was conscious and was trying to devour me with deception, instilling false memories and destroying me with nightmares. It is necessary to determine the existence of such anomalies and try to eliminate them.

Der aus Südfrankreich, aus der Nähe von Marseille stammende Charles entdeckte elektronische Musik wie so viele da draußen mit The Prodigy – „The Fat of the Land“. Der Eintritt in die Welt des Trommelbass folgte mit „Driving Insane“ von Black Sun Empire und Aphrodite. In den Zehnerjahren legte er auf einigen Parties auf und mixte hauptsächlich Acid Techno, Jungle, Raggajungle und schließlich auch Drum and Bass. Letzteres wurde ernsthafter, als Chax die Produktionen von Noisia und deren Sounddesign hört, insbesondere in den Tracks „The Tide“ und „Block Control“. Dadurch entschied er sich um 2016 herum dafür, zu produzieren anzufangen und fertigte einige EPs für Black Inferno, Suspect Device, Darkbass und Smackdown. Zu seinem Markenzeichen wurden kraftvolle, in eine dunkle Atmosphäre eingetauchte energetische Beats. Die Troika seiner „Fracture EP“ für uns schlägt in genau diese Kerbe. Deren progressive Tracks lassen jedes Neuroherz höher pochen. Chapeau an den frischgebackenen Familienvater!

In the years from 2010 on he started playing at a few parties, mixing mainly Acid Techno, Jungle, Raggajungle and finally Drum and Bass. The latter got more serious when Chax heard Noisia’s productions and sound design, particularly on the tracks „The Tide“ and „Block Control“. So he decided around 2016 to start producing some EPs for Black Inferno, Suspect Device, Darkbass and Smackdown. Powerful, energetic beats immersed in a dark atmosphere became his trademark. The troika of his „Fracture EP“ for us hits exactly this notch. Their progressive tracks make every Neuro heart beat faster. Chapeau to the guy who just became a family man recently!

Following their striking emergence onto EATBRAIN with ‘The Order’ EP in 2016, AGRESSOR BUNX tore a ragged furrow through the year with their rapid rise to the apex of the drum & bass sphere, with releases on Blackout, Trendkill, Bad Taste and Program. With the duo featuring heavily at Eatbrain live shows, they’ve seared their sound deep into the hearts of the label’s massive crew and quickly become embedded in the core of their aesthetic. 2017 brings the release of the Ukrainian pair’s first LP on Eatbrain in the form of the PROPERTIES OF ADDITION LP, which delivers an array of the kind of cutting-edge diverse and heavy-hitting forms of drum & bass that fans of both the Agressor Bunx have come to expect.
