Inchmix075 begins by cautiously lowering the listener into the murky depths of the industrial world before plummeting straight down into pulsating and at times relentless techno. A very welcome and familiar feeling for anyone who settles into the immersive world of @retina-it 
Spanning two decades the Italian duo have spent their career staying in the shadows and letting their distinct explorative sounds do the heavy lifting. Composing mostly of unreleased tracks massaged in with Einox, r2π, Donato Dozzy & Frank Bretschneider, additional drum filters and synths have been overdubbed on the main material, giving a unique depth to the hour long immersion

In nature, dunes are sand formations often formed by wind that sculpt elegant and dynamic silhouettes in constant transformation. As in nature and also in music the concept of constant evolution and movement will be the cornerstone of “Duna” the new recording project brought to light by Simone Scardino aka CONCEPTUAL.

Simone Scardino started a new artistic stage in the middle of the pandemic in which from CONCEPTUAL, his solo musical project, he develops a very personal style based mainly on techno and a technological, futuristic sound with a great structural design. Taking into account this artistic attitude of Simone in his new sound adventure, we must also think that Duna, the label he officially opens in a few days, will be oriented towards a musical line similar to the advanced techno sound.

Duna, as its name suggests, refers to the sand formations caused by the wind. The beauty and perfection of these natural sculptures is due to various physical patterns, phenomena such as wavelength or degradation, which are perfectly applicable to the sound of a recording project like this.

Desert Flowers is Duna's first formal release. Previously Simone himself released a track on the label, however, the strong bet comes with a double LP with the collaboration of an interesting cast of producers such as Mike Parker, D-Leria, Pigreko, Stanislav Tolkachev, Danilenko, Sciahri, Retina.It, Ribé, Desroi and CONCEPTUAL himself. Although the style of each track is unique to each author, together they identify the musical line of the label with an avant-garde sound concept.

Returning to our label  after his appearance on Sudbeats 2, the Canadian producer delivers 4 tasty cuts oozing with quality. 

Lets get to the music, and we start with the moody warmth of 'Planetary Phase'. Fusing deepness with an uplifting edge, this gem locks you in to its spell from the off. Live sounding keyboards fuse with a housey groove, while the bassline guides you gently adding musicality to this gem.

'Curcuma' toughens things up a tad, as this mysterious workout unfurls. Blippy subtle percussion fuses with trippy effected pads, tinkling tones and crisp beats, making this a sure fire dance floor moment.

We go big and bold with 'Mimas' as its melancholic keys map the way, gently fused to a swaggering percussive section and blippy and occasional arpeggiator cascade of bleeps. Cool as a cucumber.

And a deep and dreamier touch for the final cut of the EP named 'Tiger', but still manage to pack a serious punch, as this biggie eases you in to its lair, and throws you about an then lets you go in  a hazy state of mind.

BIO:
Vinyl and it’s sound has always been the love of the Wroclaw artist Aksamit. In her compositions, you can find hypnotic sounds of ambient, deep techno and tribal.
A Wrocław DJ, a resident at Projekt Pralnia, a founder of Affekt and
Velvet Vortex, is definitely rising talent in the polish techno scene. Her love of vinyl led her to the Berlin club Tresor, in which she played during the iconic Klubnacht & All You Need Is Ears. Currently, she has performed in most Polish clubs and festivals - Wisłoujście, Revive, Instytut, LAS Festival, Kaskada Festival and Audioriver Festival. She has also performed outside of Poland - Germany, Spain, Andorra, Denmark, Ireland and the UK. She recently won the Polish Club Stage award in the Munoludy plebiscite in the Discovery of the Year 2018 category. 
During her short 3-year history with techno music, she had the honour of playing alongside such artists as Dasha Rush, Ellen Allien, Chris Liebing, Keith Carnal, Neel, Takaaki Itoh, Perc, Monoloc, Tadeo, Introversion, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio, PRC, Korridor or Refracted.

In light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic Studio Enisslab headed up by Italian DJ / Producer and Live Act Neel has announced the release of a very special 56 track charity compilation project, fundraising for The Red Cross, who are working extremely hard alongside health services internationally that are feeling the effects of the corona-virus outbreak the most right now. The compilation is available for a limited time via Bandcamp and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Red Cross to help the world’s most affected countries in the Covid-19 pandemic.

This special release features over 6 hours of previously unreleased and unheard material, where an all star cast of artists were encouraged to share music that reflects this time we are living in.

Neel, who is one half of live duo Voices From The Lake, and LF58 speaks out on behalf of the initiative, organised in collaboration with improvised live project Circle Of Live, and visual art collective Sbagliato. He explains:

“In this situation we all need to look after each other and this project is a start. I wanted to reach as many people as possible to spread this message, so I started to share the idea personally with lots of artists and the response was amazing. I wanted them to take their time with whichever tools they had available at home to produce some music that reflects this time we are living in, a contribution for this special project and to portray a special message.”

The project’s cover art image brought to you by visual art collective Sbagliato shows pictures of windows of houses and studios taken by the artists themselves: 56 musicians, 56 windows, 56 tracks shape a new place of sharing.
