For the third episode of their show Unravel, James Lotion has invited the Berlin based queer music nerd Golden Medusa for a digital B2B. 

On the contrary to a classic B2B this one was recorded from their homes in Copenhagen and Berlin over a period of two weeks of sharing emails. One by one they recorded a part of the mix, each time responding to the previous recording. 

The result is a moody, chuggy adventure featuring downtempo moments, erratic breaks, emotional melodies and experimental sound design.

In solidarity with the Palestinian people they end the mix with Jessika Khazrik's track Kushajam's Recital استظهار كُشاجم - which revisits an Abbasid poem around a cosmic water clock, written by a 10th c. Palestinian poet.''

Tayls + Golden Medusa [Foundation FM] - September 2022

Deconstructed and disintegrated becomes energy and evolution. So the cycle continues, endlessly. Our next guest, Golden Medusa (aka Lara Golz), has managed to embody this process musically, a suitable tribute for our current moment. Known for her beguilingly ingenious sets as a resident of Leisure System and Refuge Worldwide, Lara's artistic trajectory has developed concurrently with the eclectic and unpredictable undertow of the Berlin music scene. Since the beginning of her career in 2016, she has made regular appearances at Berghain, OHM, and notorious events like Herrensauna and Atonal Festival. However, it wasn't until we invited her to play at the Ambientgarden events we did in collaboration with Staub at ://about blank in 2020 that we discovered the extent of her ambient ambitions. Here Lara shows us again that she can plunge into the depths, providing us with a two-hour mix of oceanic inoculation.

Here we go with another PBT2 set, this time from the BleeD room and a absolutely crazy live set from another Swede (to follow on from Pär's set released yesterday) @the-subliminal-kid AKA Mr Peder Mannerfelt!

This 45 minute live excursion goes pretty much in all directions in it's short time, lots of modular manipulation, sound design and heavy use of FX make this all blend into 1 long track so come join and enter the Mannerfelt mind, it's a fun yet slightly unnerving at points place to check out!

Ewa Nomad is a Ukrainian DJ, sound producer and co-founder of the Nowa project, which aims to raise funds and humanitarian aid  for people affected by the war. Since the war Ewa was forced to relocate from Kyiv to Berlin. She creates soundscapes for video campaigns of both Ukrainian and international fashion brands, seamlessly blending the worlds of fashion and music. Her approach to sound production is always innovative and she is known for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field. Her Dj set is an experimental trip to deep techno, electro, mixed with broken beat and driving percussion. Whether you are a fan of techno music or simply enjoy innovative and experimental soundscapes, Ewa’s DJ sets are not to be missed.

A testament to catharsis of body and mind, an homage to sentiment and intrigue.

‘Hyper:lost’ purveys two interlinked but distinct sides of an artist whose reputation has spanned a long and ever maturing path of sonic development. Where Raär’s signature intricacy manifests in the grittier ‘hyper’ half of ‘hyper:lost’, Whylie counters with the haunted but sentimental spatiality of the other - the ‘lost’.

For this is like a search through the dialectic of the machine; energetic fluxes and frenetic textural modulations of the hyperreal encounter swirls of melancholy and lush human washes of its seeker. These are the contradictions of a determinedly uncertain pursuit; of a head charge into the void.

Twin parts diagnosis and remedy of a present insanity. Heads down and knees up for the end.
