Formerly Primitive Tools, and (Atar-Axi-Om) Nihl (James Primitive) is a DJ and producer from North Carolina. Nihl (pronounced “Nile”) draws influence from the absurdity of the universe we live in and seeks to create personal meaning and fulfillment through a quest to constantly improve their command of sound, vibration, energy, the power of friendship, and bringing people together.
Founder of Burning Down the Triad and core member of the Diffuse Audio DJ/Engineer collective, Nihl brings to the table a diverse range of psychedelic flavors, picked to elicit a vibe unique to the situation they are selected for. Nihl ranges over many styles of electronic music, but primarily sticks to heavy, rolling bass lines, industrial whines and growls, syncopated percussion and polyrhythm, and sassy, sarcastic vocal samples.
