If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. Where is Your Proof?

Last year, when the world slowed down, I found myself looking inwards and remembering the past. I see my friendships shift in shape, my relationships ebb and flow, and the ground I’m standing on is moving beneath my feet. This record is an introspective dive, pinpointing the moment I recognised a consistency within me that fights to contradict my life in stasis. Beneath the skin deep layers there is an engine: sometimes idle, but never stalling. This motor propels me with a musical momentum. It compels me to speak my truth, words encircled in melody.

I asked my friend Hannah to draw this concept.

On October 30th, I’ll be releasing a 12 track collection. The music is about 50/50 unreleased and remastered versions singles I’ve published over the last year or so. One song is totally re-recorded to feature the beautiful singing of my good talented friend Sanja Cin.  

The process of recording this music is much indebted to a number of longterm collaborating partners:

Firstly, all of the drums and percussion instruments that you hear were lent to me freely by Aidan Poland. Without unrestricted access to his beautiful drum kit, I never could have captured these rhythms.

All of the keyboards and synthesised FX were produced using equipment loaned to me by Matt G. With the exception of tinkering in humble bedroom studio setup, all of the sounds were captured using Matt’s space where I had unfiltered access to microphones, a computer workstation, and most importantly: silence.

The entire record has been subjected to the fine-toothed audio engineering prowess of my good friend David McLaughlin. Dave took my tangled mess of a record and made it shine bright. 

Special thanks also goes to Maria Toase,, who recorded me acoustically when I was somewhat lost, wandering between disbeliefs, and reminded me to believe in myself. The acoustic music from that session form the bones of the track “Killing Time” paired with instrumental layers that I added almost a year later. 

We all walk a path but rarely do we watch where we are going. Without these individuals’ advice and collaboration I would never have achieved what, for me, is a monumental line in the sand along the shores of my dreamworld.

French outfit Happiness Therapy continues its release schedule this September with a brand new EP from Glasgow-based Spanish artist Dan Be. The four-tracker, aptly named Makes Me Happy, also features a collaboration with Portuguese talent Bernardo Mota.

Y4 Collective head Dan Be is no stranger to the Happiness Therapy family. An accomplished producer, he first debuted on the label in 2021 via Happy House, Volume. 3, before appearing on the VA’s fourth edition later that year. Now, Makes Me Happy marks his first full-length feature on the imprint, continuing a highlight 2022 for the fast-emerging Spaniard.

His 3rd outing for the label is a deep and dubby affair but with a musicality and rhythm thats going to make this one popular with a wide range of djs.  Comprised of 4 originals  -  ‘Song for new’ opens the Right Path to Pray EP with  a heaven sent message setting the theme for things to come.
We are greeted with the  most angelic of vocal licks harmoniously placed alongside a devastatingly playful bass line and kick drum, the subtle twists and turns that roll effortlessly from this track are something people familiar of Liam’s work will already know he can execute with flair. 
Right path picks up with an infectious skip and a kick drum that will let any system know what’s up. Cleverly programmed and with an ear for details Right Path ebb's and weaves into a euphoric hazy dance floor bomb.
Pray to watch is trademark Liam, with his insatiable  mix of driving sonics pushing his perfectly swung house beats. It's not often you find such refinement in such a young producer. Which leads us to So many needs Liam’s return to his dusty house styling’s, and after his previous B2s this one lives up to expectation,  this is baby making music, warm luscious music, think hazy sunny days surrounded with your best people, you get the drift.

Tom Cox aka Tommy Vercetti is a 22 year old producer from the UK that is having his way with people in 2016.
