I said Journey was the last release of the year, but I lied. I was digging through "the vault" and I found this track, decided to remake it. This is the original version of Lost in a Labyrinth of Neon and the concept is basically what my idea of a night in Tokyo would sound like. My grandfather was Japanese as well, so this is my homage to him. He passed when I was 17. 

This doesn't sound like the synthwave I always do, feels more like a club track, but retro. Enjoy!

MEMORY

"At The Foot Of Table Mountain" brings a combination of ideas together which took more than 20+ different recordings to finally work. The piece combines the piano, trombone, hand clapping samples and other percussive sounds. The hand clapping, trombone and tambourine represents the multiracial ethnic people and their improvisational music talents. 

The percussion instruments and samples were taken from the piece "Le Geste" which was made in 2022. I basically stripped back the template of the piece, kept the percussive elements and then added the harmonic and brass instruments. It is interesting to hear how the heavier sounds blend with the light colours from the piano. 

Enjoy the music and remember, "there is always more music coming!"

This is more of a boundary-pusher for me using the Bass synths extensively with some percussion involved.
Which hits an upper limit of fidelity : it doesn't want to play well melodically in some sections
It might not work for some listeners :)

My second track of 2024 - a mix of Blade Runner and my musical influences, which explain the name: Electric Dreams. I love the synth sounds produced by Vangelis and I tried to add a groovy element to it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

Electric Dreams

Danger is Strip's sister track. Spicier, heavier, sexier, a little bit more melancholic. Again, something I made for someone I love very much and who now happens to be my wife. So much happened since Strip, including you and I getting reunited. You know who you are and I love you.

Danger is also about the two extremes of our mind. The little devil and the little angel, the sadness and the happiness, the anger and the fun. As always, the darker side sounds very sexy, the allure of our saboteur is sometimes too good to refuse, but here we are, fighting it and trying to free ourselves from that dangerous, inner voice that keeps telling us bad things. This is what Danger is truly about.

Danger

I wanted to make something different, so I did. The Rising Sun is heavily inspired in cinema scores and a homage to eastern scales, chords and music in general. It is supposed to feel more cinematic, dramatic and the retrowave intro is just there to deceive you hahaha. It is the first of the a two part song. This one is about the rise of civilization, exploration and thriving. You can imagine what the second one is about.

The Rising Sun

Fever is a re-imagination of Heat, which is one of my favorite creations. I made it funkier, dancier and shorter. The concept is that it is more minimalistic and less aggressive than Heat, as this is a Fever. So it keeps growing and growing, and then it goes away. I love the idea of just revisiting older stuff at times and making it a different way and I hope you enjoy this one.

The Falling Sun is the continuation to The Rising Sun. The Sun pieces chronicle the history of mankind, from its beginning and maturity, to its possible fall. 

The sun is setting, but not the way you think so.

Tracktober 030: Ode To Disco 132 BPM  in D Major

Day 30 of my Tracktober challenge 🎃 — every day this month I’m writing and posting a track sketch. These are works-in-progress (WIP), not finished mixes (I only put max 2 hours into each one!) — the goal is to practice showing up daily, experiment with new ideas, and share the creative process openly instead of waiting until everything is “perfect.”

• Concept: Classical! Find a theme in classical music and integrate it into a track. 
• What I practiced: Sample hunting, searching for synths (SO MANY SYNTHS!), and finding ideal samples.

• Imperfections: The drums need a bit more manipulation to keep things interesting, but i ran out of time.

• Influences: Fun fact: i was in boy’s choir growing up…so Ode to Joy was always a part of my life…particularly the holiday season.
