The nom de plume Benoît Pioulard should be no stranger to anyone remotely interested in guitar-based experimental music. Pioulard has crafted a career creating softened, aching songs that pulse with given breath and slow decay along songs of fragile guitar melodies and a honeyed, yet supremely confident voice ringing through the reverb and acoustic guitar lines. 

On "Finity" PIoulard spins a deft web of sustained guitar tone that peaks, just above the red, in crucial moments - tethering an otherwise otherworldly composition to the very real, very messy world that we try to transcend through obtaining oneness with. 

A stately, gorgeous track, that for only two dollars, allows you to contribute to the literacy and ongoing learning of refugees at the Malindza Refugee Camp in Swaziland, Africa where every dollar spent at Heligator goes. All proceeds from the purchase of Heligator Records music goes towards maintaining the library through the purchase of supplies, the paying of the electric bill and a small stipend for volunteer refugee librarians.

Returning to the light from the darkness of 2012’s ‘In a Lonely Place’, The Tape Loop Orchestra and Facture present ‘Go Straight To The Light Of All That You Love’, a landmark intersection of music and visual media. Interrogating the contradictory dualism in the life that inspires art, this unique project displays the panoramic influence of Ozu, Neuer Deutscher Film, Weldon Kees and Yves Klein, as well as forming of a larger arch with TLO’s ongoing body of work.

Examining the multiple philosophical strands found 'In Search Of The Miraculous' - Dutch artist Bas Jan Ader’s intended trio of art actions, P D Ouspensky's book of the same name, Gurdjieff's early teachings - TLO pay homage to the artist’s continual search, even when the camera isn’t looking; searching for miracles, or simply an answer to the metaphysical why...

If life is art, can the artist decide where art ends and art life begins? Can they co-exist in one form? Do we celebrate the art or the artist?

As with all TLO releases, the material was recorded after development in live performance, with the new approach of using multi-track control over trademark tape disintegration for the first time. Edited, sequenced and mastered by James Plotkin for both CD and vinyl, with both formats offering different versions of the same work, ‘Go Straight To The Light Of All That You Love’ is an ambitious and densely rewarding entry in a sequence that fiercely questions the collective human failure to unravel complexity.

Reutoff is a prominent post-industrial project from Russia. The trio founded in 1998 has developed its unique style blending elements of dark ambient, hypnotic drumming and heart-felt melodics into  sophisticated sound that transcends the limits of so called Schwarze Szene. Reutoff, named after mystic sattelite town of Moscow, gives voices to terrible enlightments, breathtaking suspicions and the truth of Russian landscape with recognizible infernal irony. Project discogrpahy numbers more than a dozen of releases on such labels as Ewers Tonkunst, Hau Ruck!, Drone Records and the quest goes on. Reutoff collaborated in studio and played live with such significant projects of independant muzak as Deutsch Nepal, Troum, Bad Sector, Der Bluthatsch, Aube, Sal Solaris to name but a few. Every Reutoff piece of work is an adventure with unpredictable ending.

Каждый релиз подмосковного трио – новый шаг в увлекательном путешествии по звуковым ландшафтам, где голодных бездн едва ли не меньше, чем манящих высот. За годы существования коллектива исследование этих пейзажей сформировало узнаваемый стиль, в котором сложносочиненный симфонический dark ambient сочетается с эффектными вылазками на сопредельные музыкальные территории.
Продуманные аудиоструктуры богато инкрустированы провокативными вокальными сэмплами, тревожными крупнозернистыми шумами, тяжкой поступью ритуальной перкуссии и подвижными пульсациями. Гипнотически ритмические вещи перемежаются вибрацией атмосферных коллажей, в трепете которых угадывается серебро мелодических линий. Различить эти тонкие нити в плотной ткани шумовых волн — все равно что найти слабый пульс на теплой любимой руке — пульс еле слышный, но неумолимо обнадеживающий. Это музыка одинокого сосредоточенного противостояния, отчаянного – и от того парадоксально обнадеживающего. Она будет близка каждому, кто не считает современный мир лучшим из возможных. Reutoff звучит для всех тех, в чьих сердцах живет любовь к родной земле, увлечение тайной природой вещей и устремленная в будущее тоска по настоящему.
По мнению членов группы, Реутов и его окрестности изобилуют странными, тревожными и по-настоящему волшебными местами. Вместе они образуют единое сакральное пространство, которое стимулирует творческую активность, как никакое иное. Заметим, что эта живая связь между географией и гармонией ясно прослеживается в работах трио – даже неподготовленный слушатель расслышит в Reutoff «музыку почвы», монументальную мелодику тектонических разломов. На сегодняшний день на счету проекта более десятка программных релизов, целый ряд 7” и 10” виниловых пластинок и более десятка треков на различных компиляциях с участием таких мировых пост-индустриальных звезд, как Les Joyaux De La Princesse, Blood Axis, Der Blutharsch, Novy Svet, Inade, Troum и многих других. Релизы проекта издаются на лучших постиндустриальных лейблах планеты – в том числе Drone Records, Eibon, Blade и Hau Ruck!. Reutoff стал единственной отечественной командой, которая дважды принимала участие в ведущем российском фестивале индустриальной музыки Heilige Feuer в 1999 и 2004 годах.
В 2009 году Reutoff принял участие в известных на всю страну пермских «Дягилевских сезонах», где произвел большое впечатление на публику, собравшуюся в Органном Зале местной филармонии, вызвав самые разные впечатления, но никого не оставив равнодушным.
Продолжением сотрудничества с Пермским Оперным театром стал уникальный музыкальный проект "Музыка машин" - совместный концерт Reutoff c симфоническим оркестром Пермского академического театра оперы и балета, прошедший прямо в цехах крупнейшего действующего предприятия "Мотовилихинские заводы". Этот без преувеличения беспрецедентный проект, реализованный 25 апреля 2010 года, стал одним из ярчайших и неординарнейших событий в культурной жизни России. Программу совместного выступления классического симфонического оркестра с группой Reutoff составили произведения композиторов XX века, Мосолова, Онеггера, Прокофьева, Свиридова и, конечно же, проекта Reutoff.
