DJ GOLdbERG (real name: Jānis Goldbergs) born 1982 in Kuldiga, Latvia. Music became a significant part of his life since childhood. In 1998 he started working at Kuldigas popular radio station “Skala”. After that he joined another radio station “Kurzemes Radio” and became an audio advertising producer and an on-air DJ. This stage of GOLdbERG’s life made a significant contribution to his musical career. That contribution has lasted to the present day.

In 2002 DJ GOLdbERG moved to the capital city of Latvia – Riga, where he was seriously focused on electronic dance music. In 2002 he gave his preference to soulful/tribal house, sometimes playing progressive/uplifting trance. Years are passing by and his preference completely changed to trance. As a resident guest DJ  GOLdbERG is playing at numerous clubs in Latvia and in the Baltics (“Essential”, “Banzai”, “Sunset”, “PuPu Lounge”, “PMK” and others). He is cooperating with the promoters from Latvia and the Baltic countries and is playing at wide variety of events (“KnockOUT Festival”, “Airport Jam”, “Baltic Beach Party”, “Summer House” etc.), as well as helping organising other electronic music events   (last major event – “Nuclear Explosion”). At the moment DJ GOLdbERG is also focused on electronic dance music production mastering.

In 2006 DJ GOLdbERG with the help and support from his friends, and in cooperation with Discomania.lv, organised an electronic dance music charity project “House 2 Heart”. The income from the event was donated to Reinis Runcis operation.  In late 2007 in cooperation with a nightclub “PMK” he organised an “Opus World Tour” event in Latvia, bringing Mr. Sam as a headliner (France/”Black Hole Recordings”).

Starting in 2007, while having a DJ career GOLdbERG is forming his own radio show “TranceAtlantic Flight” on the local electronic dance music radio station “ProgressiveFM” (Cesis). At first both creation and content of DJGOLdbERG’s radio show is influenced by the productions of such trance super star DJs  as Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren. Changes in DJGOLdbERG’s musical taste lead to the change in the radio show content, which became more varied and interesting.

Music that DJ GOLdbERG is choosing for his sets is difficult to put in a frame, called „Trance”. His sets can be very different and diverse, it all depends on the crowd he is playing to. He still plays energetic trance sets, sometimes indulging himself in techno rhythms, and not afraid to play a bit of house music.  As GOLdbERG says himself – “The most important thing in my sets are people’s emotions and the atmosphere.  A job of a DJ is to make people dance and have a fantastic time accompanied with good music!”
