Miss Melera is back in action on the influential Chapter 24, with a brand new and brilliant EP that features two great originals as well as Editions from Dave Seaman and Jonas Saalbach.

Jonas Saalbach (@jonassaalbach) is a young star who is making his second appearance on the label. He has recently put out an excellent full length on Einmusika and a fine EP on John Digweed’s Bedrock. Here, he comes good once more. His Edition of Mint is spine-tingling and awash with gorgeously smooth pads and spangled synths. Soothing and calming yet driven, it closes out an essential EP.

Reversion (noun): the final, often mind-melting, product of a deft studio act in which an original recording’s elements are rephrased in a unique new way.

You know this. We know this. Monaberry knows this. They proved it last month with Super Flu’s agenda-setting ‘Re:Dings’ EP and they’ve done it again with this stunning reconstruction collection of andhim’s 2015 Monaberry smash ‘Rollercoaster’.

The evidence is clear from the off as ‘Mr Bass’ gets knighted to Sir Bass with two beautifully contrasting remixes. First up is groove-chowing Leeds lothario wAFF who fires up the energy to hip-shaking tech-level and gradually re-introduces the original’s cosmic elements as the groove charges into the vanishing point. La Fleur, meanwhile, adds a much more ominous fog-horn style bass texture that groans moodily before the majestic melody cuts through a Garnier-level arrangement twist. Stunning.

‘Cloys’ also enjoys two superb reworks: Re.You provides a touching twist by paying close attention and respect to the original’s swampy, underwater harmony with additional percussion, a richer weight and a more restrained sense of emotion. Ever one for contrast, Eagles & Butterflies flips the original into a brighter narrative direction with a timeless undulating groove and dizzying cannon of humanised textures. A true yin yang reversion scenario; one for opening, one for elevating.

It’s down to Zurich’s Animal Trainer to sign off this beautiful reversion experience with a bulbously rotund basslicked take on ‘Rollercoaster’. Upping the tempo and stripped back the layers, the duo create more space for the woozy vocal soul snippets and a whole new melodic layer.

Mind-melting, deft and rephrased with innovative articulation, andhim’s originals have been paid the utmost respect from five of this decade’s most exciting new house talents. Monaberry knows this, we know this… Now you do too.

We love brand new artists and music as you know at Data Transmission and today we have a new act from the Berlin label Exploited, they are known for bringing new acts into the scene including Adana Twins, Homework, Claptone and more. Their newest member is GHEIST, who features in our Debut Transmission today with the track 'First Day'.

There is little known about Gheist at this stage, his press release says he is a Berlin based conspiracy, consisting out of an Electronica Band and a DJ Background.  The project was founded at Riverside Studio during the last year based on deep friendship between the members. The goal is to connect the sound and vibe of an electronica band and the clarity of an energetic DJ-Set.

wAFF's already released three records via the imprint and one via sub-label Hottrax, now comes his fourth instalment and the 'Sick Pleasure' EP is more of the dancefloor-crushing same.

Three rugged and slamming house tracks are included and we've picked our favourite to premiere today. 'Flipback' starts as it means to go on with fierce kicks and a thick, rolling low-end bass rumble. The drops are agonisingly prolonged but anyone who knows wAFF, knows that the release is always more than worth the wait.
