The Santa Cruz-born band Stomping Grounds is still in it's infancy but they call on classic rock and Motown blues for inspiration. The group is headed up by brothers, Antonio Anzaldua on guitar/vocals and Lorenzo Anzaldua on guitar. They are backed by Matt Howard and Judd DiSalvo, who provide a funk-heavy rhythm section. Antonio has a youthful, yet raspy voice that nails down the genre on songs that pay homage to the music of Gary Clark Jr., Soulive, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Black Keys, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix.
