Das Trio @treibgut eine reine Improvisations-Band und stellt sich immer einfach so mit ihren Instrumenten und Geräten vor eine Menschenmenge. „Die Inspiration kommt dabei aus dem Moment und dem Zusammenspiel zu dritt“, erklären die Musiker aus Hamburg. Manchmal seien es sogar eigene kleine Fehler, die die Idee zum nächsten Track liefern würden. „Am Ende eines Gigs in der Hammahalle des Sisyphos ist dann irgendwie der Track „Phosphor“ entstanden. Das ist zwar auch schon wieder eine Weile her, aber irgendwie hat er uns nicht losgelassen, so dass wir ihn unbedingt aufnehmen und veröffentlichen wollten.“ Gesagt, getan. Die Nummer erscheint nun mit einem weiteren Original, „Eigengrau“, über @heiterwolkig - mit Remixen von @iorie und @peng_peng (@ddoollpphh und @meerkats). (...)

Treibgut - Eigengrau (Iorie Recolour)

This EP is inspired by the cultural heritage which the Argentines and Chileans seek to perpetuate. Ulises has developed cultural and emotional bonds towards the natives, whose struggles he feels and shares. Struggles for their own traditions, their own lands and their own existence. Thanks to the resistance of cultures like the Mapuche we can now enjoy traditional melodies and instruments, such as kultrungs, charangos and quenas, that Ulises skilfully merges with an electronic timber palette to achieve the deep organic sound that we can appreciate in this EP. 
Uña pays homage to the acclaimed quena player Uña Ramos, from the mountainous Jujuy province. Pewünguen derives from a chant in Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, that celebrates the rebirth of nature in spring. Here, the artist adopts the same chant metaphorically, to wish the rebirth of the Mapuches. 
Musician by formation, Ulises plays guitar, keyboard, and drums. Such multi-instrumental skills provide him with a broad range of sounds to blend and wedge into the electronic beat. Talking about the aesthetic he craves, Ulises stated “I want to have the possibility to choose any timber from any source I feel the music needs. No limits!” …and limitless is his desire to explore the vastness of sounds, to experiment new combinations. 
Besides the original tracks, the EP comprises four gems by Carrot Green, Steffen Kirchoff, Arutani, Coss & Iorie, who remixed Ulises’ productions.

I asked Micha if I could do some sort of remix/interpretation and he luckily sent me the stems of their recordings. I had a lot of stuff to do the last summer, so it took me quite a while to start this remix and get it done. Hope you like it :)

Hello everyone! What a tornado we are all in this year. There is quite something going on in the world and BLM and Covid-19 affect more people compared to any other event over the last few years. There are still disasters going on everywhere on this planet where many people don’t even know about. From being homeless to losing your beloved one(s), being a refugee child or having a flooding which makes your house being under water. From a bushfire to so much plastic in the ocean (and thus: our bodies if we consume seafood). Talking about BLM…..I am white and I feel ashamed for myself and my ancestors who have been part of history and the present time where people of colour were and are treated differently. I genuinely hope that we all can make a change. Underneath our colour is a human of flesh, blood, a heart, senses and two ears. So without making this too much of a political talk. Let’s try to create a change, all of us, to make society more equal to all. And coming back to your senses and two ears….please have a listen to my new podcast. This podcast is  definitely a memorable one for me cause although I am still very privileged, I find it hard to see so much pain and inequality going on in the world. Born in Cologne and raised up in southern bavaria, reyneke started playing classical guitar when he was 10 years old. Growing older he eventually discovered punk rock, so he switched his wooden guitar to an electric and started playing in bands. At the same time he had his first electronic music experience visiting cosmic music (some sort of slow techno only popular from italy till south of germany) and goa partys. From this time on, he produced music with only his computer and the - rather basic - tools of the end 90s softsynth era and trackers. After a long period of doing mainly reggae/dancehall instrumentals, he came back to electronic music when moving to berlin in 2010. Since then he is fascinated by the rather slow & deep side of this genre. In 2018 and 2019 he had the first releases with his projects @PHUEXE and @Bassaramusic (with @sahrabass) which found a good resonance with popular DJs like Mira, Madmotormiquel and others, who played the tunes on big festivals like Fusion and Garbicz.
