BlackLightning was a mindset for me. I was coming off of writing my first album and had been part of different groups for so long that this mixtape was a good chance to flex both my rhyme and production skills. My partner Pachino Papes did the engineering and we worked out of our own studio. We went from rappers who made music to executive producers. BlackLightning represented growth for me and my team.
