Anti Monk Dreams Of Electric Sheep

While playing on the piano, I came across a wonderful little melody and composed this emotional, magical piece around it.

The title and the intro was inspired by a video of Richard Pryn who talked about the "secrets of adventure vibe" trailer music. Great, inspiring stuff - you should check him out (https://www.youtube.com/@thetrailermusicschool).

We’ve been going around in circles with this situation 
Lots of frustration.  Not sure how much more I can take
I try put a smile on my face and pretend I’m happy
But lately it’s been getting hard to fake.

So tell me something cause I’m trying to find a reason not to go.

I’m content to stay at home -  I know you think it’s boring.
You’d rather be out touring - I’m just not wired that way.
We used to talk a lot but now our conversation struggles. 
We don’t have quite as many snuggles.
I’m sorry but there’s things I need to say.

When we first met everything felt new.
I couldn’t wait to be with you.
Lately I'm feeling off my game.
I’m looking for a spark to reignite the flame.

It’s like we’re stuck in that movie groundhog day
The two of us have lost our way

But every day we play the same old song

One of these days the clouds will lift and we’ll have some clarity

As I try to feel good 
Relive my childhood 
And worry about future loss and gain
Real bombs are flying
Real children dying
To condone it is to be insane 
If I do who will complain?

If you want PR, you'd better sing along 

Absolute power on 30% doesn't make a leader strong
Without PR we'll have no chance for people to get along 

Nobody votes for post election coalitions
First past the post uncaring politicians
Trustworthy lawmakers that really listen?
We need PR and random Sortition 

Strong government should represent everyone
And doesn't trample over human rights to get things done
Doesn't allow everyone to shoot a gun
Or vilify minorities for a bit of fun 

We really need parties that win hardly any votes
With seats in parliament proportional to our hopes
Cos to properly represent every view
Needs elected reps with 5% sitting on a pew 

If all we have is the mushy centre
We'll never progress because new ideas will never enter
The political debate in our ruling classes
And they'll never get off their asses
To fight for a better world
Instead of only listening to the lobbyists for the pearled
Winner takes all forces parties to sell out
We need parties in parliament that stay on 5 per cent
To keep their radical views with an airing on the news
