Noir - Morning Shadows

Located on the banks of the Rhine, Westerwald sounds like a far flung fantasy kingdom. Well known for its idyllic scenery and mountainous landscapes, the German region regularly provides inspiration for the likes of Dominik Eulberg, Gabriel Ananda and now Tim Engelhardt. 

The shining status alongside his illustrious peers is testament to Tim’s talent. At seventeen he released ‘Everything Is All You Have’ on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label and he returned late last year with the excellent ‘Enigmatism’ EP.  He's also showcased his skills on Parquet, Babiczstyle and, most recently, Upon.You. Here we find him upping the ante once more with an impressive debut on Joris Voorn & Edwin Oostwal’s GREEN imprint.  

His trademark expansive melodic structures and exquisite use of harmonies are in evidence again as we’re wowed by the spine-tingling beauty of ‘Pan’ and blown away by the intricate, wonderful and aptly titled ‘Trabant’.

Every once in a while an artist comes along who reminds you why you fell in love with music in the first place. When a singer can tap into that passion and effectively translate it into his music, it transcends time, genres, and cultures, making for true artistry. East Coast singer/songwriter Lee Wilson has such a passion. and his debut Dopewax single, presented by four-time Grammy Award nominee Kenny Dope, "Turn You Up" is a prime example. It's the lead single from Lee's highly anticipated album project which promises to quench one's thirst for quality. A crossover hybrid of many styles, not the least of which include House, Pop and R&B, this debut single is complete with lush vocals, hypnotizing harmonies, clean beats and plush chords, that would make even Pharrell smile. Lee Wilson's story is about to be told and we can't wait to share it with the world.

With the season well underway, Get Physical is hitting the ground running with the 18th edition of Full Body Workout. If case you’ve been living under a rock the last decade, Full Body Workout aims to shine a spotlight on some of the hottest rising and established talent for their take on where the scene is now, and where it might be headed. So finding tracks by visionaries like Pezzner, NIBC and Nils Hoffman shouldn’t come as a surprise. The compilation opens with a floor-moving tech-house groove from Supernova to set everything into motion. Quickly following is Pezzner with ‘Julie’, a small shift down in energy initially, only to rise to peak time levels over the course of the track. Eagles & Butterflies then shakes down the floor with a percussion driven beauty, ‘Awakening’. Nils Hoffman up next. The young German producer delivers a stunning track full of bass swells and calls it ‘Storms’. Hold out for the elegant piano lines in the break, a brilliant contrast to the dark and heavy bass surrounding it. Now we’ve reached the halfway point, and we don’t want to spoil the surprises to come from the likes of NIBC, Kevin Yost (who’s skillfully pulled of the continuous mix here as well), Savvas Ysatis & Olga Kouklaki, P41, Hawie and Ilona Maras, Sanja feat. The original “Sad Robot” collaboration between Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur was heaped with acclaim when it first appeared on John Digweed’s Bedrock label a year ago. This sparkling gem of a track pushed all the right buttons with a euphoric attitude that only comes from years of experience of rocking the best dancefloors around the world week in week out, and now the label is set to take the story to the next level with 3 diverse, exciting new remixes.

The enigmatic Rich Lane from Newcastle Under Lyme (who also records under aliases such as Original Disco Thing and Chug Norris) has been gaining plaudits for his musical creations that loosely fall into the realms of what are variously tagged “Slo-Mo”, “Chug”, “Nu-Disco” and even “NEW New Beat”.  By channelling the sounds and feel of classic House, Techno, New Beat etc. and mellowing the groove towards a slower mid-tempo ride, whilst adding a sprinkling Post Punk, Funk and Synth Pop, Rich Lane is a masterful producer who draws together so many disparate elements that seem to unite a particular type of music lover. German duo, Christian "D-Nox" Wedekind and Frank Beckers, have become firm favourites worldwide over the past 10 years with a perfect fusion of studio expertise and an impeccable dancefloor touch Their creative chemistry has become an unfailing source of massive grooves and their exceptional remix of “Sad Robot” sees them firmly at the forefront of the current phase of musical evolution, drawing from the best elements of a variety of musical genres, to create a mesmerizing new future.

Hailing from the current hotbed of exciting musical evolution, Argentina’s Alejo Gonzalez (renowned for his show on Radio 90.3FM Delta) has joined forces with fellow DJ and producer Max Blade to create a beautifully melancholic interpretation of “Sad Robot”, a perfect, understated finale for this remix package. The undoubted talent of this young duo marks them out as being ones to watch for the future, for sure.

Born, bred and based in London, Rudy premieres on DHA with an exemplary track via the Amsterdam-based brand and record label - Subjekt Recordings.

Inspired by the music of New Order and Joy Division, Rudy developed a love for electronic music early on. From fan to musician, he became accustomed to making noise on an early copy of Fruity Loops studio and got hooked. A brief but significant affair with the guitar ended at the age of 19 when Drum & Bass crashed into his life getting him back into the studio and making tunes.

In the future, Berlin beckoned and Rudy followed, producing music day and night whilst soaking up the diverse scene and taking inspiration from Berlin's vibrant culture and muse. He recently returned to his hometown with a sound of his own, ready to release his debut 'Transformation'.

Manoo moves Emilie Nana’s 80s Janet Jackson & Prince inspired Music, shaping a bouncy groove filled colourful exchange between vocal and melody. Building and burning as Nana’s voice emanates out of this twisted 4/4 beat. This inspiring vocal “Music is the best part of him” is enriched by the simplistic layering of rich exchanges between the composer and production mastermind, Manoo. 

Beanfield & Thomas Herb take this Nana-esque bass beast Tolstoy’ Changes, bending the range to deliver a dancefloor destroyer.
