The Cult brings a legend from DMC scratch champion in the late eighties to the missing link between Detroit and Amsterdam in the nineties. Dutch producer Orlando Voorn needs little introduction.

With seminal hits like his dancefloor-destroying KMS smash ‘Fix’ under his belt, it is no surprise that the ever-innovative producer is as in demand today as he ever was. Having worked alongside techno originators such as Juan Atkins and honed his production skills under an incredible number of monikers over the years, we bring the multi-talented producer into the Cult. Here he produces an EP of techno brimming with the musicality and inventiveness that is regularly stamped all over his productions.

Opener ‘Between the Surface’ rolls along effortlessly with its Detroit house leanings, loose jazz drums and buoyant walking bass line driving the groove onwards. Hitting hard, ‘Dazed’ is up next with its jackin’ DX style bass and deep evolving arpeggios, that hark back to the glory days of early house music. Finally, ‘Immortal' ventures into deeper territory for a twisted journey of discordant synths, electro bleeps and haunting synth melodies.

His debut on Rhythm Cult is rich with ideas and showcases the creativity that has made Voorn a force to be reckoned with for nearly three decades in the game. Joining the dots between Amsterdam and Detroit this new EP brings fresh inspiration with every listen.

Orlando Voorn | Between The Surface

The Cult welcomes onboard @kiz_pattison, a man who has consistently released some of the best techno and progressive labels over the last few years. His outings on Selador and Renaissance have found favour with progressive giants such as Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa and many more. Here he debuts on Rhythm Cult with a slice of slickly produced dark melodic house music that showcases his undeniable talent.

This EP has already received tastemaker support from Damian Lazarus, Luke Brancaccio, Nick Muir, Joris Voorn, Jim Rivers, Sohmi, Anthony Pappa, BOg, Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Pola, Automomo, Michel de Hey, Don Diablo, Dumb Unit, Tim Rush Hour, Ricky Ryan, Four Candles, Boris, Marco Faraone, & Mark Antonio.

The lead track, the aptly titled ‘Dark Noises In Dirty Rooms’, starts this five-track EP with a hypnotic throbbing groove, locking in the dancefloor before building to a meltdown of bit-crushed effects. This is a dystopian future house that shows the robots still know how to groove. Next up, Rhythm Cult label head Paul Loraine steps up on remix duties for (unbelievably) his first outing on Rhythm Cult, turning out a glitch-laden seven-minute sonic trip into dark house territory. He builds the momentum before a reprise of dub-laden chords elevates the finale. Another first on the label sees Lee Jordan and Robots With No Soul join the remix team. First, Jordan known for monster remixes on the likes of Framewerk’s Capital Heaven brings his progressive touch to proceedings. He fuses breaks and widescreen sound design for a sonically on-point remix. Finally, Robots With No Soul flick on the strobe lights to transform the gorgeous deep original version of ‘Connekt' into a pounding late-night techno dancefloor destroyer.

With new artists brought into the fold the Cult continues to grow and spread its unstoppable sound…

Tokyo producer @satoshi-fumi makes his debut on Rhythm Cult for his latest EP 'Eternal Refrain'. Satoshi's music is elegantly dance-centric, with nuanced rhythm work and beautifully layered melodies that are supported by club-ready energy and dynamics.

Every element of the tune 'Eternal Refrain'' has been developed for summer festivals & parties through its euphoric merging of numerous styles, creating something unique and unforgettable.

'Fractale' combines organic percussion work with effortlessly unique and appealing piano hooks and delicate synths to create a detailed sound environment that rewards repeated listening with fresh discoveries.

@stelios-vassiloudis rounds up this special release with two magnificent remixes of the title track 'Eternal Refrain'. The first gives Vassiloudis' distinctive perspective on ''Eternal Refrain'', opting for stronger beats and bouncing bass throughout. Chunky grooves and high-energy sonics kick in right away, making it a head-turning peak-time jam! With an intimate mix, the second remix takes the listener on a voyage of auditory ambience.
