Born in Fraga 1986, during his adolescence DJing on the pubs in the area of Fraga, alcarras and other villages in the area, making its first session and the pair their first productions in the field of hard-techno, evolving progressively , to techno-house, and finally ending in minimalism, he made his debut in florida 135, at 20 years old,


Ren Stone’s project takes him back to his roots of singer/songwriter folk music, inspired by the movement of conscious roots and his background of traditional Indonesian music – largely the provinces of Aceh and West Sumatra, with thought provoking and emotive lyrics. Influenced by his time spent playing with Rhythm Hunters, Chaika, Nahko & MFTP, Nicky Bomba and on the same festival circuit as the likes of Trevor Hall, Dustin Thomas, Rising Appalachia, Kevin James etc; Ren Stone sets to inspire change with his audience and create music though his personal journeys, philosophies, travels and experiences.

A dynamite force in world roots music, adored for their frenetic drum choreographies and infectious dance grooves, Rhythm Hunters bring cutting edge physical percussion, western horns, Asian flute, deep grooves and electro beats.

Drawing from the cultures of northern Australasia, to the traditional folk songs of Indonesia, and the electro beats of cyber culture, Rhythm Hunters is a unique musical and visual act that easily slides into many genres including world, folk, groove, electronic and cultural genres.

Original inspiration stems from the dream of celebrated multi-instrumentalist Rendra Freestone to create a visual fusion of Japanese Taiko drumming with indigenous music from the little known provinces of West Sumatra and Aceh, Indonesia. Over years of development a range of contemporary instruments have found their way into the group resulting in a very modern sound.

Following a 14 month break, Rhythm Hunters returned to the stage for their highly anticipated return the 2018/19 Woodford Folk Festival to adoring crowds. In 2019 Rhythm Hunters look forward to releasing their highly anticipated new studio album produced by Nicky Bomba, and touring extensively around Australia and Indonesia throughout 2019-20
