David Harness is one of the most popular DJ/producers in the San Francisco Bay Area club scene. He has been described as ‘a man who lives, breathes and emanates everything that is beautiful about deep house music and classic garage.’ David is considered a ‘rising star’ within the dance community.’ With influences varying from Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Quincy Jones, the Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Parliament Funkadelic, the Isley Brothers and First Choice, among others it's easy to see why funk and soul have always been strong elements in his sound. In 1990, David began DJ’ing at the After Dark in his hometown of Monterey, California. As his popularity grew past the boundaries of Monterey, he was invited to establish a residency at Tilt and the Sound Factory in San Francisco. 

1994, David opened and DJ’ed at the popular club Lift at Club Dv8 (today known as Temple) in San Francisco. His success as a club DJ led to a DJ spot on commercial radio.  David joined the popular radio show Your Mama’s House on the San Francisco Bay Area’s number one radio station 106KMEL FM. Your Mama’s House was the only ‘true’ house mix show on any major radio station in Northern California. As part of the Your Mama’s House crew, David played a key role in exposing the masses to House Music in the San Francisco Bay Area till 1999. 

1995 David kicked off a seven year residency at San Francisco ‘s legendary Club Universe — San Francisco’s hottest Saturday night party. At Club Universe, David had the opportunity to play with many legendary DJs like Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Little Louie Vega, Tedd Patterson, Dave Morales, Danny Teneglia, London’s Simon Dunmore & Aaron Ross, Los Angeles’ Marques Wyatt, San Francisco’s Miguel Migs, Mark Farina and Kaskade, Quentin Harris, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Spen, Timmy Regisford, Doc Martin, Osunlade, Danny Krivit, Joe Clausell, Derrick Carter Mr. V, Kenny Dope, DJ Spinna— just to name a few. His growing popularity accelerated David’s natural progression into production.  In 1998, he released a CD for Universe Sounds and Twisted America, ‘Welcome to the Universe’. This innovative CD, recorded live from Club Universe, reflects San Francisco’s unique ‘sound’ and introduced the world to David Harness. Recognizing his talent, Twisted America quickly signed him to produce his first single, ‘Get It Together’, for a Twisted America compilation entitled ‘A Little Bit of the Old, A Lot of the New’.  In 1999, David started Taboo in San Francisco’s Mission District. Taboo started out of David’s love of House music and his desire to provide a showcase for Bay Area talent as well as internationally known DJs. Now in Oakland, this ongoing monthly party attracts a loyal crowd of househeads from around the San Francisco Bay Area and the globe to the this blending of spirit and soul.

September 2000, David launched DHJ Productions and has established himself as a respected producer and remixer. To date, David has worked on projects featuring artists such as Mary J. Blige, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Simply Red, Alicia Keys, Floetry, Donnie McClurkin, India Arie, *NSYNC, and Donnell Jones, Ann Nesby, Anane, Barbara Tucker, Inaya Day, Shea Soul, Dawn Tallman, Heidi Vogel, Yoko Ono, Roland Clark as well as remixing for labels Defected, Kings Street, Vega Records, Foliage, Quantize Recordings, Making Moves, Tribe Records, Look At You, Yellorange/Tony Records, Chez, Slaag, Bargrooves.  He is a partner in the Moulton Music label and divides his production time between his solo work and co-productions with Harlum Muziq (co-productions with Chris Lum).  David is also affiliated with Loveslap Recordings label releasing 2 cd's Loveslapped Vol2, & Heartbeat, as well as original production and remixes for the label. David Has performed at Coachella, Southport Weekender, Outside Lands, Pride Festival (SF-1995-2011, Oakland-2011/2012), Nextaid Benefit, Macy's Passport, and countless clubs and event around the globe.  




Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 and has since fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then he’s amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired productions for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.

As an artist, his 2014 debut album entitled ‘It’s Time’ on Z Records displays his musical range and versatile quality production skills. The album hit Number 1 on Traxsource in its first week and has received support from the likes of Solar Radio, Mi-Soul, Kiss FM, and Jazz FM.

As a DJ, he forged a reputation at the legendary Southport Weekender, where he performed regularly. Anyone who can impress the notoriously knowledgeable Southport Weekender crowd must be doing something right. Sean has also travelled the world, playing as far afield as Asia and South Africa, as well as regular appearances across Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs, and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd.

As a producer, McCabe is constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions. He admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. In 2016, Sean continued his musical journey by launching ‘Good Vibrations Music’ record label – a natural evolution of his renowned Good Vibrations events in Bristol.

With a successful album under his belt, his own record label and notable collaborations with the likes of Karizma, Turbojazz, and DJ Spen, his reputation for bringing quality soulful dance music to the masses continues to rise.

Bebel Gilberto (born Isabel Gilberto de Oliveira on May 12, 1966 in New York City) is a Brazilian popular singer often associated with bossa nova. She is the daughter of João Gilberto and singer Miúcha. Her uncle is singer/composer Chico Buarque. Gilberto has been performing since her youth in Rio de Janeiro.

Bebel's debut song was, as expected, precocious. At the tender age of nine, Bebel had already performed at Carnegie Hall with her mother and Stan Getz, and had previously participated in the musicals Pirlimpimpim and Saltimbancos with her mother and her uncle Chico Buarque.

Her professional solo debut came in 1986 with a self-titled EP released by WEA which included "Preciso dizer que te amo," a partnership with Cazuza, Dé, when both were in the Barão Vermelho band. In 1991, the daughter of Gilberto and Miúcha traded Ipanema, where she grew up, for Manhattan, where she was born. Bebel continues to live in New York City, but shares her time between the U.S. and Brazil.

Bebel was a great friend of Cazuza and she composed several songs with him in addition to "Eu preciso dizer que te amo," including "Amigos de Bar," "Mais Feliz" and "Mulher sem Razão."

Bebel next participated in the project Red, Hot + AIDS, joining major music stars such as Everything but the Girl, Maxwell, George Michael and others for the benefit CD recording. She also collaborated on the CD of Japanese producer Towa Tei Future Listening, singing on the hits "Technova" and "Batucada" and also participated in the project Peeping Tom Mike Patton (former lead singer of Faith No More), singing "Caipirinha."

With the release of 'Tanto Tempo' in 2000, Bebel concocted her trademark electronic bossa nova, which took over clubs around the world and positioned Bebel as one of the top-selling Brazilian artists in the U.S. since the '60s. With her second album, 'Bebel Gilberto' (2004), she refined her sound to create an acoustic lounge style that showcased her strengths as a Brazilian composer.

With Momento (2007), her third album in seven years, she wanted to do a fusion of both. Mixing the taste of Rio 'Orchestra Imperial' with the melting pot of New York's Brazilian Girls, and following the direction of the English producer Guy Sigsworth (Madonna's partner in "What It Feels Like for a Girl"), Momento reaffirms the international character of Bebel.

All in One, which was released worldwide on September 29, 2009 on the famous American jazz label Verve, was released in Brazil by Universal Music. It is the least electronic-infused of her albums, it also brings to the forefront more of Bebel's personality and love for organic styles.

To forge a mature serenity on 'All in One,' Bebel had a super team of producers including Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen), John King (Dust Brothers, Beck), Daniel Jobim, Carlinhos Brown, Didi Gutman (Brazilian Girls) and Mario Caldato Jr (Beastie Boys, Bjork, Jack Johnson).

Since the launch of 'Tanto Tempo' in 2000, it has sold over 2.5 million records and has been featured on seven film soundtracks (including "Next Stop Wonderland," "Bubble," "Closer" and most recently 2010's "Eat Pray Love") and seven TV series (Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck ...).

To simply say Michael Winston is an influential DJ is like saying Keith Harring was an influential painter.  Michael is one of the most influential DJs to have ever lived.  As co-owner of the Powerplant and opening DJ for Frankie Knuckles from 1982-1988, Michael bridged the gap between the end of the Disco era and the beginning of the House Music era.  He was one of the only 10-20 DJs on the planet who were privy to the first House Music recordings and he was one of the first to introduce this newly forged genre of music to the world. 

His DJ career started in 1977 and since then, in addition to the Powerplant, he has played at scores of clubs in his hometown of Chicago, including, but not limited to, Realto’s Tap, COD’s, AKA’s, Medusa’s, The Gallery, Sauers’, Igloos, the Powerhouse, and Lucky’s. Various other locations Nationally and Global.

Michael has also been producing music since the early 90’s and he has collaborated with Darren Brandon from Blak Beatniks as well as the late Riley Evans on the classic House song “Let the Music Use You”.

Further, Michael was a member of IRS (Imports Record Service), a record pool organized through the famous “DJ Only” record store, Imports Etc. in Chicago and also, Michael was one of the founding members of The Black Record Pool.  As such, Michael was partially responsible for coordinating the distribution of  promo copies and “DJ Only” extended mixes of records to pool member DJs.  Thus, in addition to being one of the first DJs to introduce important songs to audiences, he was also responsible for being a tastemaker for Chicago’s other most relevant DJs as the one distributing cutting edge dance music to them.  It is worth noting that admission to most record pools is restricted to the most relevant DJ’s and the Black Record Pool was Chicago’s most coveted pool.

Further, Michael was a panel member for the Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation’s panel discussion for CIMMFEST’s CIMMCON (the panel series) on Grammy winner Frankie Knuckles’ impact on the music industry, presented as a tribute to him in response to his untimely passing.  Also, Michael performed as the headlining DJ at a tribute to the late Frankie Knuckles presented by the City of Chicago in June of 2014 in Chicago’s Millennium Park. Recently, Michael performed in Atlanta at the Backyard Party hosted by Mikos Jones and Michael also played for RFK’s Pier 31 event. Michael is also a recurring guest on the WNUR’s Arise Radio Show as well their Vintage House Series Show.

Some artists transcend the need for award, but are nonetheless deserving of decades of accolade.

Burning Spear is such an artist.

Mark Stone – DJ/Producer/Remixer – born and raised in Basel/Switzerland was already enrolled at the Music Academy for Percussion lessons at the age of seven. Time passed by and Mark's passion for beats and rhythm grew.
 
1992 he came across artists such as Incognito, Brand New Heavies, NuYorican Soul, Dj Kenny Carpenter from Studio 54, Larry Levans Paradise Garage and the legendary Masters at Work who inspired him as a percussionist through their use of beats.

Mark's first DJ gig was at the old Bell Company Tower in Basel in 1994 and only a week later he got the once in a life-time chance to play a set at the legendary After Hours Club – The Downstairs. That’s where his DJ career kicked off and he already shared the turntables with the likes of Mandrax, Boris Dlugosch, Terry Hunter and David Morales.

End of 2003 he co-founded the weekly UDM Radio Show going ON AIR in April 2004 for the first time. Mark Stone’s weekly mixed sound selection of the hottest and newest in soulful and NY House is still running and hosting a Who-is-Who of the House Music Industry.

The UDM Show is the proud “Official Media Partner” of Europe’s biggest soulful Event: “SOUTHPORT WEEKENDER”. As UDM frontman he played in clubs in cities like Miami – Dubai – London – Southport - Cardiff and many other.
