It begins softly, almost imperceptibly, like the first shimmer of dawn on the ocean’s surface. But beneath the seemingly calm melody lies a drama, a conflict slowly unfolding. The Robot of Dawn, represented by deep, mechanical basslines and pulsating synths, has one goal: to win the love of the Californian Mermaid, whose floating harmonies embody the songs of the sea. Her voice—an ethereal blend of ambient textures and organic sounds—pulls the listener in, evoking a sense of longing and unattainability.

Yet, like a shadow on the waves, the Pirate Penguin enters the scene. His arrival marks a turning point in the mix: irregular, sharp beats and sudden breaks disrupt the harmony. The playful, almost cunning rhythms are his signature—he’s a trickster, cutting through the melodies of the sea, trying to eliminate the Robot and captivating the listener in an unpredictable whirl of sound.

The mix evolves into a clash of opposites. The electronic, machine-like sounds of the Robot are continuously interrupted by the Mermaid’s natural, organic melodies. But it’s the Penguin’s nervous, erratic beats that keep throwing the balance off. Each section of the mix reflects a new phase in this unlikely rivalry, with the tension between the sounds making the drama palpable. The music grows more intense, darker, yet amidst the sonic storm, the question remains: Who will win the heart of the Mermaid?

Patahtatu - The Story of the Pirate Penguin, the Californian Mermaid, and the Robot of Dawn

but in reality, we’re all bound together by the same stardust.








I started DJing in the early 90s and bought my first Technics 1200er when I was 16. At the right time I was playing in a small club called Grooveclub and we could feel the beginning of the house and techno scene in Germany. Many sleepless nights followed. As a visitor, I traveled through the club scene in Germany and visited clubs like Distillery, Muna, Tresor, Aufschwung Ost, Mach 1 and so on. This inspired me to organize my own small parties as an organizer, booker and manager. At the end of the 90s I gave up my most important hobby, a mistake I later found. In 2016 I started DJing again and I'm looking for the opportunity to perform in a club with 100 to 300 people or a good radio show. At the end of 2020 I started producing a few small tracks and am looking for a label that will give me the chance to show what I can. We'll see what comes next and I'm in good spirits.
